Proxy/Port/IP Scanning for Proxies -- Tips??

Hi,

I've started scanning IP's with Angry IP Scanner/Charon to find good anonymous proxies and while I've had some success I want to learn more. Does any one know of a guide or have any tips on how to do this efficiently/effectively? I'm sure someone's got to have some experience.

i will be honest , iv port scanned all my proxies for 4 yrs
because lets say u port scan 1000 proxies on 4 diff ports
and ip range blocks probably less than half will already be
out there on forums already , making the rest last longer as
there not being used, there just sitting there waiting to die
or be used, the other thing is, anyone who has made there
ip blocks to scan, wont give them out, because they will
get burned over used banned killed .

Thanks so much for responding. Part of why I'm doing this is for the reasons you mentioned.

Do you have any general tips? I'm not asking for specific IP blocks, more like general tips on how to have success with this.

Also, if there is a YAPH for Dummies tutorial anywhere I'd love to read it. Never used Unix/Cygwin or the program before but I'd love to learn how.

Thanks for head's up. I read somewhere in one of proxygo's threads that he's scanned for years without issue, but maybe he's doing it differently than I am. I'm using a VPS. Ideally I'd be using YAPH too, but I really have no clue how to use that yet.

I never had any problems with my ISP about scanning IPs.
But I've heard people say they had problems in past with their ISP...

also scanning the same ip blocks with 8080 3128
will only get u the same proxys but with a different
port number. but there still the same proxys.

example

20.1.1.1:8080 is the same as 20.1.1.1:3128
so that doesnt work koko waste of time
that only works if your scanning totally seperate
blocks not the same block twice with 2 port numbers.

u also forgot
8118 - 9415 - 8909 - 6566 - 8123 -8081 - 808 -8088-
i could go on but u get the picture, the more obscure
the port number the less used it probably is

i get just over 1k 8080 google passed
about 300 8118
about 200 9415
8909 come and go
on and on but there all on different ip blocks
and they all come from different isp blocks around the world

i checked your ip block u posted koko on 8080
154 live 8080 - 90 google passed.
my 8080 block is the same size as yours gets 1k 8080 google passed
but there from all diff countries. pakistan/venuzwela/arab emiratz/
like this - over 1200 for a sunay isnt bad

Any info on what the best tools to proxy hunt/port scan are? Angry IP scanner (v3.0-beta6) is very slow and I haven't been able to get it to seamlessly blend in Charon. I have to export my findings into Excel and append the ports by hand.

i mean this with no disrespect - but i stay away from users with
1 post and an account 1/2/3 yrs old = no history no rep.
the highest proportion of scams on bhw are by low post users.
you maybe totally legit but its not worth the hassle of messing around
with chargebacks/refunds . i wish you success in finding a suplier
and theres plenty who will help you out in the proxy sales section
