I can't give you a definite answer on the number of sites that gets picked up by Google news as it would be mostly niche based. When you consider the distribution lists of all three wires, it's a huge one and quite a good number of them usually appear in Google news. Most of the time your story gets published on the big sites in your own niche. Say, a PR on finance niche may get published on banks.com etc.

Yes, we can certainly write PRs on German sites. No issues there.
