Stop Words In Body Text

I have read about stop words not using them in 'title tags' and wondered how this applies to body text of a website! It would be pretty hard to write content without using stop words. SO what happens when the Google spider crawls your site and comes to a 'stop word' does it simply stop crawling your site or go to the next word?

You have a misunderstanding of stop words. It doesn't mean that a web crawler will literally stop crawling the content, but that it doesn't store these extremely common words in its database saving disk space and speeding up indexing.

The reason people say to exclude them from your title tag is that they take up valuable space that would be better used for keywords or better descriptive text.

Don take them out of your body text, it will make fuck all sense without them.

Google stop words to get a better idea about what they are and which ones they are.

Hi thanks for taking the time to reply. I was not going to take them out anyway, but after searching various forums it seems a lot of people have different ideas on this subject. I did find quite a list on stop words which is quite vast! Does it have an effect on keywords in body text? Say if a 'stop word' was before your main keyword in the body text?

After the Penguin Update, Stop Words are even more important. Especially for your anchor texts.
