That's a valid concern and it has happened on BHW in the past but from OPs posts in
this thread seems like he knows what he's talking about.
But I couldn't care less if he makes a million or is broke.. he gave some solid advice there so just take the advice and run
I see hes not "board" anymore
Great advice, especially number 6!
Plan, do, review! That's how it's gotta be done. Make a plan on what your going to do, then do your plan and review only after you've done it. Too many people mix these 3 steps up. Most people try to do step 3 before step 2 and this leads no where. Make a plan, trust in your judgement and carry out your plan. If it doesn't work, then review and re-plan.
Here is what I personally do to boost my productivity and reduce paralysis by analysis:
Step 1: Do research, figure out a plan and a strategy to get there.
Step 2: Break your strategy down into action steps at the lowest/simplest level
Step 3: Before you go to bed, create a to-do list for the next day using each action step as an item.
Step 4: Don't do researching, analyzing or any of that until your daily to-do list is complete (don't even question whether what your doing is working or not, just stick to the list you made - you have to condition yourself to trust your planning)
Step 5: After your to-do list is complete, now you can review everything and revise your action steps if necessary
Step 6: Repeat Step 3-5
Try to do *all* your planning while your in a good mood (strong state), and commit to trusting your plan (after all, you created it while you were "in the zone") and following it through no matter how you're feeling the next day. This eliminates the need for constant motivation, cuz we all know motivation comes and goes, and some days its just not there. Following these simple rules almost religiously has tripled my productivity and my ability to "take action."
I'll be following this thread to read more great advice from OP.
