It varies from super cheap to high end products. I've found that cheap items have a much higher conversion rate than high end products and are sometimes more profitable so I don't discriminate based on price. If you want a keyword targeting a certain niche or product let me know or if you're looking for items in certain price ranges I probably have one on hand that will be suitable.

1. keyword details : Exact US searches 720 , Exact Global searches 1000 , high adwords competition with CPC $1.02
available site EMD .org from 2009 .

2.monetization : i found related products on amazon with price between $50-100 , and as i said high adwords with CPC $1.02 so it's easy to monetize with adsense and amazon , and the keyword itself popular and you can expect high conversion rate .

3. seo competition : since this service by LBrown you don't need to ask about that ! but since it's a review i will talk about that , allintitle for the keyword is 4010 results only , checked it using serp attack pro and gave me easy difficulty rating , i checked manually too using seo firefox plugins and online tools and i can say your mom could rank it !

You can register a dropped domain at any registrar like Godaddy or internetbs for the normal new domain registration price.

No one knows exactly how Google measure domain age. We only know how other sites measure domain age, like whois or waybackmachine. From my experience a dropped EMD will rank easier in Google than a new domain so that leads me to believe that Google still sees value in those domains.
