301 Redirect Fail-Site is being gradually deindexed

Has anybody experienced something similar?

One of my sites got hit by the recent updates and lost pretty much all rankings. All of the pages were indexed though. I decided to redirect the old domain to a new one but the new one is not being indexed(its been 2 weeks now) while the old one is being gradually de-indexed.

There were 70 pages indexed (all unique content) and now there are 2 left. For the new domain, I use site:newdomain.com and I get nothing.

I use webmaster tools and the option to fetch as googlebot. The redirect is in place for all pages.

Has anybody experienced that? Do you have any ideas what I should do ?

So you have a site that was just rated as "not rankworthy" and you have no idea why a 301 to a new domain name with the identical, "not rankworthy" content ist not ranking/getting indexed?

I am thinking about buying VIP status just to neg rep you. I am surprised that you know my site that well. I have paid well over $1000 just for this site so do me a favor and leave troll.

I asked a question in the same way that I help other people when I can. If you are unable not to write like a monkey then dont write at all.

Deindex your old domains first. Then get an entirely new domain and copy over your content. It's even better if you change the content some so as it appears truly fresh/original. This is why you deindex the other domains/pages first.

I've carried penalties over from 301 redirects before. Google has done a lot in the last month or so. Panda, Penguin, Pagerank export, etc. Be cautious with your ever move because the SERPS are still not stable. Good luck.

yeah exactly, With the 301 redirect you are just passing over all ranking factors, whether they are good or bad, over to the new domain.

I want to apologize for the tone of my first post.
When you redirect a deranked domain just to a new one, you take all the deranking faktors with you. I thougt that would be obvious.

Have you tried webstats sites and web directories to start your new site indexing?

Yes I have tried doing some manual backlinks like some statistics websites, bookmarks and a couple of statusnet(all manual and not excessive). The backlinks are indexed but the new domain is not. I did the redirect around 2 weeks ago.

So basically, the website was indexed but penalised. I then did the 301 and it seems that the old domain had all but 2 pages deindexed. The new domain is nowhere to be found on Google but I can see it on other search engines like http://duckduckgo.com/.

Anyway, I assume that its either that Google is changing things and its getting slower and amateurish (completely deindexing the website would make more sense..) or it does not like the 301 redirects on penalised websites.

I will wait to see what will happen and if nothing happens in a couple of weeks, I will delete the website,park the domains, take my articles, rewrite them and create a new website. My advice though is to wait a bit before doing 301 redirects etc.

I am a complete newb when it comes to 301's, but what happens if you redirect the damaged site to a buffer web 2.0 which then links to your new site? Would that at least save some of the link juice? Seems like a plausible way to "filter" out the penalty assuming there's even a penalty being transferred.

I think I'm going to test this out with some of my forgotten sites.

This has actually been on my mind for a while due to 2 reasons:

1) I have a ton of old sites that used to be profitable before panda but now are all penalized (I've stopped caring about these sites for about a year now, still has a bit of income trickling in so I keep renewing them)

2) Web 2.0 sites rank so easy

I actually wanted to transfer/redirect all my penalized sites and have them all on a web 2.0 permanently since its free, just takes a lot of time which is why I never tried it before. Would probably bring in more money than they do now on a penalized domain.

I have a completely different experience. I just recently redirected my old domain(hit by Penguin, of course) to a new domain. I migrated all the posts to the new domain and modifying what seem to be spammy, specially the blogposts title.

I did an .htaccess 301 redirect, 2 days later the new domain get started to indexed including the posts I've migrated until the 4th or 5th day, all posts are indexed on the new domain.

And, some of the previously ranking pages in the old domain now starts appearing, but not yet fully recovered.

Once I did the .htaccess 301 redirect from old to new domain...I think 4th or 5th day later, I removed the old domain from GWT(yes, the old domain is setup with GWT). The new domain is completely out of GWT, no GA and using statcounter to track visitors.
