Penguin Friendly Backlinks?

With all the news of the Penguin update and Google deranking millions of blogs I have an important question some of you might be asking yourselves now.

What type of backlinks are currently working for you in this new Penguin update? Which ones would you deem "Penguin friendly"?

Have you successfully ranked sites using those links? Also did you just link them to your money site or make several tiers of those links?

Pretty much every link has to be high quality- even social bookmarking and web 2.0s have been seriously devalued and if it's low quality it will be penalized. Most service providers on bhw aren't penguin-safe, from my experiences with the mns's I ranked with some services here (they were great pre-penguin though and some of the best in the business). Currently I only know one service that is safe post-penguin and as far as I know they don't have a service thread.

There is no reason for you to change your tactics unless you are using shitty services and mass blasting your site daily.
Just start providing better content to your site (longer articles, better text, cleaner to read).
Then stop running bullshit blasts to N/A PR0 sites. Find services that will do linking wheels to categories that your website
is under. No point in putting backlinks for car repair in a women's makeup category.
Google is just trying to get ride of the idiots who think blasting their site with useless links, while putting shitty content on
the site.
We here at BHW will always find the best new ways to rank, but guess what? google will also see this and start working on
taking us down.
All in all just provide real good quality and don't over do it with the backlinks and you will again be fine. If not then that is
the game we are in. Some sites will go down and others will jump even higher.

I say several tiers and all that crap is the best. Their is no way in hell you are getting 1000's of backlinks to your main site
while the backlinks don't get backlinks of their own. Just looks fishy. This also helps with bing and other engines as they
calculate by the activity in the web about your site and not just backlinks to your site. If your sites backlinks are getting
backlinks then they see this as a good think and people are interested.

Don't hold all your eggs in one basket.

Soon you will see an someone selling "Penguin Friendly Backlinks"........If you manual post your backlinks, you will be fine. SB 500,000 blasts are not normal. Linking crap to crap =? oh ya, CRAP.

In my opinion: We have to use our brain and build our backlinks in a way that Google thinks they've been built as closest to 100% naturally as possible, and also like has been said above, put a lot of unique and quality content on our sites.

To do this there's still dozens of possible methods. Using logic one can find the way he's the most comfortable with.

Long gone are the days of "buying your way" to the top, with low anchor text diversity, and low incoming link diversity. The key for long term rankings is to make sure you are doing what you can to diversify everything, while making sure to link internal pages on your site as well.

I have sites which skyrocketed in the SERPs that had nothing but low quality autoapprove Scrapebox links. The secret was my "linklist" was HUGE and I linked just about every URL on my site with atleast 5-7 optimized & unoptimized anchor texts. Again, each anchor text was targeted towards the page and not a "general" keyword list.

I've recently rolled out Panda/Penguin friendly keywords as a free feature on all of my services, which will include links with unoptimized anchor texts. I think you'll start to see other services introduce something like this soon.

Prior to Penguin update, my own site ranked for a few decent kw's but work still needed to be done for many others (just no time with my client sites taking priority). Now with the updates, my site has jumped to page 1 for many kw's and to page 2 for others. Austin is a competitive city for anything internet but my site now outranks many of the big guns.

The only backlinking done was social bookmarking and about 175 Manuel High PR backlinks back about 6 months ago...Do I think this is my reason for ranking much better now? I'm sure it didnt hurt me but I'm sure many of my competitors hurt themselves more which helped me.

I thing you are right about this... the last update is more about the on-site and less about the off-site...

What is make me nervous what G try to achieve? The last to update are very aggressive and make a lot of waves and I can not believe they come with this last update and not knowing what will happen...

Diversity is key. You don't think it is natural to have spammy links or links from bad websites? People post Facebook links everywhere and they don't get penalized for their "bad" links. They just have a diverse array..

Experimentation is how people are going to survive this update. Just find a service that still works; unfortunately I can't find one on the services sub forum, but rest assured they will crop up.

I was lucky enough to not have to pay my seo providers to fix that too, since I had a friend help me out with building the site (auto repair niche) earlier this year.

The truth is you CAN buy your way to the top, so maybe I should rephrase.

You can't buy your way to the top and be a lazy schmuck about it like you could in the past.

Before, anyone with a big budget, and little SEO knowledge could pop on Text Link Ads, or Backlinks.com and buy a crap-ton of perfectly optimized anchor text links and point them to their homepage and rank for competitive keywords.

Long gone are THOSE days. Now you need a little more know-how and common sense when building your backlink profile. Otherwise your profile will be so off the charts that it's completely evident that its artificial, that you'll get bitch slapped by the big G sooner or later.

Well,

i am the head of a SEO company (NON US) and i want to tell you some...

Not one of our sites has been droped since the pinguine update. I want to tell you what the most important is building SE friendly backlinks.

- D0F0LLOW! Be sure that a maximum (2/3) of all your backlinks are D0F0LLOW
- Do not use any comment backlinks or just 5-10% of your sources
- Build as much as you can contextual backlinks with Anchor (take care that you do not use always same Anchors)
- Do never ever use unspuned content
- Post as much as you can in moderated Sites (Wait and you will see a lot of your links will get approved)
- Be sure that the most Links come from PR1+ Sites (N/A and PR0 should not be more than 20% of your links)
- Do never ever use Linkfarms, Profilelinks, Scrapeboxlinks
- Use always the 3 Tier System

Our expirience shows us great results. You can still use your BH Tools, no matter what others say. But use it wisely! G is optimized to find BH work dont forget. You can be sure Matt Cutts is reading all of the BH methods. This guy is pretty smart. The Algo of G will work much better in future. Pinguine is just the beginning of the end!

I have a linking structure that's working great for me, I'm seeing steady movement in the serps. I was actually already doing this for one of my sites, and after seeing that site survive the panda and penguin, I polished it up a bit and continued experimenting with it on other keywords and its working great for me.

I used to be a big supporter of link diversity (people always telling me to get links from *everywhere*) but my new linking strategy has less than 5 "actual" links coming to my site each week (I have a steady stream of "filler" links though coming in every week to maintain link velocity) and the movement is pretty nice. I think it's also very safe too, I'm sick and tired of getting so many links, ranking, and then having an update wipe it all away. Especially annoying when its a white hat authority style site.

The gist of it is I use web 2.0 backlinks (I used web 2.0 for all my sites, but this particular site survived where the others fell and I realized I was doing something different with it)
