Over Optimization Penalty Launched Today

Can Anyone tell me how to do white hat SEO??

All I know how to do is Black Hat!!

lmao!!

That's what I would call it too.
Problem is because they think, they are too big so they can do everything they want.
I wish they will be out of business some days.

I am calling this the Pandashit update.

i've seen no movement positive or negative on any of the 50+ sites i designed and manage
well...i think a few (about 4) went up a bit
but they are the ones that are always dancing by 2-3 spots on page one
i Never use forumspam and i always use READABLE spun content
i also make sure i don't ever have any word or phrase equal more than 5.1% of total text on a page
(keyword density tool in seoquake)
i've done a bit of comment spam into my network, some older sections don't have any, but the newer sections with over 120,000 comment spam links inbound are still top of their game
i only use social bookmarking sparingly as well
and i do all my wiki's myself from a VERY heavily filtered list of targets
i think all of this is contributing factors to the steady ranking

edit: my biggest site, which had a buttload of strength and it, and it's satellites were dominating a very high 10k+ exact match search, is nowhere to be found on page one (it and it's brothers used to be 7 of the 10 on page1)
weirdest part is...
it was genuinely helpful, had no social bookmarking beyond digg, reddit and a few others, had no comment spam pointed at it, and was just linked to by tier 1 sites (used as a 2ndary focal lens in a mesh/pyramid structure)

If over-optimization is the new penalty, then negative seo will be used a lot in the future. And if this is the case, why not spend some free time bringing down some big sites that google seems to favor. Google makes money providing their search service, and because they are the biggest search engine in the world, they make the rules and we all have to comply. But it's all about doing business. Even in the real world, competitors still use different advertising methods to make more sales. Who would want to dedicate his whole energy to a website purely just for fun? Unless we have a motive, we will not try our best. And when we don't try our best, how could Google expect high quality content??? Google said that "
We want people doing white hat search engine optimization (or even
no search engine optimization at all
) to be free to focus on creating amazing, compelling web sites." but let's just be realistic. Even in the real world, doing business is all about marketing. Of course we need to create a great product first. But how could we expect any sales sitting in our office waiting for some customers to notice us and come in and buy???

This does not look good at all....site from 2002, PR4, many authority links, many page 1 rankings...drop.jpg

I thought I would engage in this convo and bring up a point not mentioned. Everyone is talking about Google forcing the little guys in to using Adwords, which is becoming more evident every day.

What about the web sites that are using Adsense?

Everyone knows that Google has a habit of favoring it's own services and best interests. So, did this new update hurt their adsense revenues too?

Let's say that the entire front page, every website was using adsense prior to this update, and now only a few. After the update, let's say only 3 of the 10 have adsense.

I would say that Google would lose more than they would gain through adwords. They would lose each website's adsense revenue, to a website that doesn't have it. If you are in a high competition keyword, that could be $10,000+ per day, per website.

My ranking is boosting
Now I am #20 for main keyword from #50 fewdays
All my sub-keyword now #30 from #100
Hope my site will get #1 :D

Can a machine really tell the difference between spun content (that some what makes sense) and pure 100% none spun content thats quality?

I mean don't you think Gaygoole is just saying that to get less people to do blackhat.

How da heck can a person rank with only white hat links and quality content... it would take for ever man and cost an arm and a leg.

This sucks man!

My battle plan:

First of May, upload 10 high quality articles to my money site and do link wheels using web 2.0 as the main tiers and a few bookmarking sites for the inner pages (of those new 10 articles). And I WILL spin the content on the web 2.0s! :)

And buy some High PR theme related Homepage (blogroll) links!

Oh yeah... I wont be using keywords at all from now on, since I think Google already has a good idea of what my site is about (very niche and focused - and have heavily used the same 5 or so keywords to build link with for a while).

I'm digging that idea...

Me too..

we should get all the sb and xrummer owners to go out a spam every other site on the net, that will mess big g up

Yes! That would be a great plan. Probably going to spend few hundreds and totally mess up my niche - shouldnt be that hard.

I am seeing mixed results so far on my foreign KW's. Few sites gained rankings, one hit #1 place, but 2 of my better sites got hit. Mostly for the root domain, why is that? What is also interesting, my site is gone when searching "my keyword", but ranking 1st for "my keyword 2012". Not only 1 KW, this is for multiple KW's. Can't figure out yet what is the difference between sites that dropped and those which did not drop.

There must be more updates to come, because SERPs are totally fucked at the moment.

We should have a look at this without emotions... I mean... I do not think really that Google is going to roll back this algo update. Sure, many niches were affected, and it is more than questionable if the current results are better than the previous one. Most likely there will be some tweaks to improve it - but just tweaks, no roll back.

Also, every one here who has different sites with different strategies and age range, trying to rank for many different keywords must know the same thing I know - that none of the theories when it comes to link building is correct right now - simply it doesn't matter what you do, still you can be affected hard.

I am personally going to focus on other IM projects, where SEO plays no role at all. That's the best thing we can do I believe meanwhile, to see how things settle - if they settle, and where to go. Good luck all!

I plan to do the same. Too tired with G games.

The question is, this update is related with BACKLINKS or CONTENT?

I guess it's content, or I hope so.

What I'm going to do with all my rank loses?
Change the content completely!! I'm going to imitate the first results and see what is going to happen.

I'm sure Google is still making tweaks. Rankings are still dancing. Give it a few days to settle.

No comment to this $hit...

Here is an example of how stupid all this is, check the keyword - [cheap auto insurance] in Google US... 1 visitor = $1-3 revenue (personal experience)

Why is Google letting Matt Cutts kill their company? The results are shitty as ever now, even pages with 0 backlinks and content filled with nonsense can rank at #1 for high search terms.

Have you seen any yet?

I just blasted 200 million Auto approved blog spam comments linking back to G00gle. Let's see what happens.
lol obviously that wont work, i dont think google crawls itself..but maybe some other big site like microsoft would be a better target
