Another reason why Web 2.0s are a great type of SEO... I create a shit load of them! Today I noticed that quite a few in a certain niche started to get some pretty decent traffic so I threw a few affiliate links up... This helps to make up for some of the other drops.

Most of my sites have completely disappeared from the SERPS, with shitty pages that are low quality ranking 1. Even Wikipedia pages in my niche got knocked back big time.
wasted all that time SEOing when sites with 0 backlinks
beat me. GG SEO.

It certainly will be this way if Google keeps the current update as it is now.

I've got a LOT of sites (mine and clients) that are on the first page and haven't been effected... however the one's that HAVE been effected seem to have one of two things in common... 1. They were HEAVILY scrapeboxed in the past or 2. They were heavily social bookmarked

i have one site that got hit. high quality, original content. tons of useful content. years old.

other sites with basically the exact same backlinking didn't move. same link sites. same techniques. if it was the backlinks then all of those other sites would have gotten hit.

So u think blog comments with less then less 55 obl wont work? I cant believe that because comments are what people still look at for directions in many places

My advice: If your sites' rankings have dropped, look at the sites above you in the rankings and see what they're doing that you aren't.

Needless to say I'm surprised it took this long for Google to start discounting blog comments - 99.9999% of those are spam anyways these days.
