Thanks. And sure, it was within the online gaming niche. Which isn't something that I'm really into, but it's not overly boring doing research for like some niches can be. I think most niches would work with this, but I'd still stay away the more "spammy" looking ones like weight lost and dating products. They can be profitable but a decent amount of people have skepticism towards those kind of products. So it will be more difficult to get your link to stick in forums.
I recommend going with a niche you have some knowledge in, that it will help you be more helpful in forums you're posting in. I believe the better route is to join the forum and attempt to actually contribute to the posts. Make sure it's one you can have a signature in first though. Bookmark the forum and build up your post count over a couple days. Then just throw a link to your site in your signature.
As long as your site is relevant to the forum, most of the time it won't be a problem, especially if you've actually contributed. Another tip, try to get a higher post count than the minimum for a signature before putting it in. Might be a small detail, but remember you're trying to not look like a marketer at all. Being helpful and active in the forums I think will at least double your chances of it sticking.
It will take more time but will probably be more effective in the long run.

I'll probably start looking into making a 3rd blog tomorrow, being much more careful about the niche I choose. My experience So far has been this. Fitness Blog: easy to generate traffic, descent click through rate, very low conversion rate. E-Marketing Blog: traffic is difficult to get, slightly better click through rate, good conversions but high refund rate. As for my progress, my grand total as of last week was about $315 but after refunds from 2 big orders has dropped to the area of $190. My first check will be $99 (after 10% return allowance) and is set to be mailed out on the 25th. Even though it's relatively small that'll be my first real profit using methods from this site 
I really need to pick up the pace or my next payment will be a measly $60 (unless a rebill kicks in by then) and I I'm striving for an increase in profits after every payment.

Thanks for your contribution.. you said you put your link in your signature (which I think is a bit different than approach of meathead which seems to mention url as an impartial party). But, I definitely can see how having a signature link when you are already seen as an authority on the forum would work well. I assume though you don't try to point to your signature or refer to it right?? Have you found some forums do delete it or your account? It seems if they do allow signatures then having one's own website link should be ok. Or have you found that isn't the case (because perhaps it is seen as competition)?

First of all i would like to thank Meathead1234 for this method. I made my first $24.98 using this very method while being a complete and utter N00b in any web-related income generation occupation.
I have couple of questions if you don't mind. First, the affiliate I send the traffic too, had 107 visitors but only 1 visitor actually bought the item in question--giving me 50% in commission. I wanted to know if the conversion rate of 1% is acceptable and on par with the normal conversion rates in the industry.
2) I did not utilized forums but left my link along with a thoughtful comment on blog posts. While having 1331 visitors, only 107 went to the actual affiliated site. Is that bad? I also wanted to know why do I have such a low redirect rate while having highly targeted traffic. Shouldn't all 1331 visitor go to the affiliate site because the reason they came to my site was because they were interested in buying the product. By the way, i didn't create a review site but a emotional blog post seeing how emotions move people more than reason.
3) The next question is, why do we need to promote someone else's product? Why couldn't we just create another website with 5 different products and then send the traffic from the review site to that website---cutting the middle man and reaping 100% of the profit. I am saying this because the minimum payout of that affiliate is $100 dollars and i need to sell at least 5 products to receive payment. That is why i was wondering, why not just sell your own product instead of theirs.

This method has been working quite well for me over the last month or two since implementing it. My yahoo account has increased to level 2 so I can now add links into my answers and have been getting 10-20 extra people a day to my site through this method. Also the last couple of weeks my sales have gone from pretty much nothing to having made $100 last week and up to $30 this week so far. The people coming to my site are much more interested in buying what I have to sell. So thanks once again meathead1234 for your awesome contribution.

Thank you for being consistent in reporting back with your posts. This just happens to be my very first post. I've read just about every single page of this thread. Not everyone who's said they would post back their results have done so, so it's very appreciative to those of us who are either lurkers or former lurkers like myself when we see this. I do congratulate you on your first upcoming paycheck from ClickBank. That must give you some motivation to keep going.
I read this thread over the entire weekend. Maybe since Thursday actually. Now I'm researching information on how to choose the right products. This is hard! I read in one place to not pick products with a higher gravity than 30! In fact, great success was found with single digit gravity products. Now that really makes you think. This is why I'm taking my time to figure this all out before I even buy a domain. I know it was said somewhere in this thread about the 97% failure rate to implement any IM strategy including meathead's proposed method... but... you still have to do research first. I disagree about just jumping right in. That could mean hours and hours wasted. Like those folks in this thread who chose "weight loss."
It was very very overwhelming browsing through the ClickBank products last night. I don't know how any of you are able to choose the right ones under your chosen niche.

I use weight loss as well and made a few sales too. But after doing it for a while and trying another niche I can tell there's easier money to be made with other niches.

I am also using weight loss but I havent gotten over 10 visits since I set the blog up yesterday. I have commented on about 20 blogs that I have gotten alerts for.
Should I widen my alerts or just let it ride and see what happens? Any more suggestions on what I can do or where I can comment to see better results?

I didn't mean to imply that it "doesn't work" if you really know what you're doing. I was hoping to spruce up some discussion on product selection instead. Looks like I inadvertently brought up discussion with a defenseful tone in favor of weight loss promotion. But any niche that is oversaturated is going to be more competitive and therefore also more difficult to profit in. But it seems like the IM'ers from the last few posts or so really know what they are doing and are profitting big time from it. Congrats to you all.

Thanks Meat.. Cant wait to see it to see what else I can be doing. I am commenting on every blog that comes in my alerts and I am not seeing any results as far as traffic goes.

I won't give my money site away, but I'll do a short case study and some other tips to increase earnings using a mailing list.
I don't do too much myself as I have staff that do most of the work - but the concepts are still from me.
