domain age, important factor of seo?

hi, i want to know if the age of domains is a important factor of seo. a old domain will be above in SERPS?

Some claim domain age ain't that big a factor but for me, I would think that it is. If I were Google, I'd say that time filters out the quality sites - coz if it ain't quality, it probably won't last long in the web right? It's a good filter and I think Google's using it even if it's not a colossal factor, it still is - and in SEO, all factors are studied.
If you register your domain for 2-4 years, it would be better than just 1-2 years. Google knows. We can't really say what works or how much effect something has on your page rank. But if you know it might have an effect, why not go the extra mile? After all, SEO is all about going the long road.

Domain age does not much help in seo. Site should have Unique and quality content, links and user friendly then get high rank in SERP. Old domain will not be high in SERP on the basis of its age.

It's one factor out of many. But it definitely helps you get higher in SERPs vs. a brand new domain.

How long it's been indexed is not the same as domain age.
Google tends to show some favoritism to website that have been indexed by Google longer.

Yes it is a signal from their over 200+ signals but mat cunts says it is not.

This is true. I have tested this and you can just blast the hell out of an older domain. So while it does not affect you SE rank directly, you can take advantage of the domain age and just push yourself up in rankings by doing a much more aggressive link building campaign. That's the main advantage so it does affect SEO but in a indirect way.

Domain age is a plus factor in SEO of a website especially in tougher competition. However, it is NOT something necessary. I rank new domains almost as easy as the old ones.
