Hey everyone, just got my refund earlier today for my website, which I paid for on the 29th of January (almost 2 months ago). I thought it would be only fair if I share with the community my experience. I spoke with tvaughan08 on skype and explained what I need - a custom made site with nice design AND FUNCTIONALITY which would mean coding. He said give me some time and after few days he said dude I have to refund you, we are designers and we can't manage your project, which was fine so far - fair enough. Than he said wait I can't believe I didn't think of my other team, they might be able to do it they are better coders, so he said wait for some more days I'll check. After that he said ok they can do it, but instead of the normal price of $300 because it's harder to do it will be $425. I said ok let's do it if it's going to be what I need and than we started sending back and forth emails about what I need with another guy who is working for the other team he mentioned... basically he is the guy that did screw things over, as tvaughan08 was actually fair enough the first time and apparently Jeff told him he can do the job. After more than a month of explaining what I mean (sometimes multiple times the same thing) I was told to "sit tight" and wait as I'm not the only customer and my job is hard to do. I said to myself alright I'll wait more, and when it was almost 2 months already I asked what's up? Why no update of any kind? So Jeff told me sorry I have exams now, I can't work, talk to the boss - tvaughan08. So I did, and he said, well no - we cannot do it. I have another programmer he can do it for $700. So I said please refund me...
Basically I think the boss guy is pretty nice and honest person who tries to run a decent business and everyone does make mistakes, but non the less this is a pretty f*cked up situation - I did lose 2 months which means I did lose money as the new site will definitely convert more and make me more money and I did made everything I was asked for including prepay and I get no compensation, though he did say he would do the design for just $150, but I'd still have to pay $550 for coding, but this doesn't help me with the fact that I lost 2 months.
As I said things happen, it's up to you to decide what to do, but I personally thought that If someone before me had the same experience and he had posted it here I could have saved myself a good 2 months and I was going to have a great new working website already, so I had to share my experience.
