Are link pyramids build the same way as link wheels? Using web 2.0s and then spamming the shit out of them with scrapebox and whatever? I can't seem to find any good guides on them, all the google results from "Link Pyramid" and people trying to sell you one.

dude...link pyramids are as the names suggest pyramid based built links; as for wheels ...its a darn combination interlinked like a wheel.

As for tutorials and stuff like that why dont you stop leeching and start thinkin' and doin your own experiments with your personal twists and see what works best for you.

Just my 2 cents

no. Standard link wheels are basically linked in a circle and all linking to money site and they are very easy to detect:

1>2>3>4>5>1

A pyramid is basically a multi-level structure. For example if you have a 3 level pyramid 3rd level links to 2nd, 2nd links to 1st. There are many details though - like do you interlink sites in same level? Do you also link from 3rd level to 1st level? etc.

Stop thinking in geometric figures and try to understand why you should do it X or Y way.

Also, you may want to read this "old but gold" posts of mine:

Thanks, I suspected it had something to do with not linking them together.

I just need a general example of how they are built.

I was planning on creating a 3 level pyramind, with the top site being a web 2.0 linking to my money site, then level 2 are 3 more web 2.0s linking to the tier 1, then in tier 3 are 3 web 2.0s/articles linking to the tier 2 ones.

Then blast them with scrapebox at the end.

Personally I have found building link pyramids the better strategy, providing they look natural, and not spammy. I generally build my pyramids over 20-30 days. Others may disagree but I have had a lot of success recently. Just remember quality not quantity.

Due to google recent penguin update every body is putting steps carefully. So dont be fast bro.Build links slowly or else be ready to face google penguin update.

The best link pyramids are high quality tier 1 links (your own high pr network, guest posts, high quality web 2.0s) then link to those with a ton of web 2.0's. Then have a 3rd tier of blog comments, forum profiles, article directories linking to the 2nd tier. Save all the real spammy stuff for the 3rd tier.

The pyramid is better but you have to make sure that you're not blasting any links to any tier.....the logic that says these links are junk so i won't point them to my site directly but i'll blast 10000's of then to tier 2/3 makes no sense at all.

Stay away from blasts & spun content while mixing in variety and you will avoid a lot of trouble.

Link Pyramids it's best ideal but creating slow because after G update it's leave bad impact so be carefully.

Any evidence of this?
I'm asking because I spent the last 3 weeks running a 1000 post (across 180 web 2.0s) tier 1 campaign across 5 different new sites and then going over it with 20k web 2.0s, wikis, etc in a wheel (two links to tier 1, one link to a random tier 2 property), then injecting 1500 high PR blog posts as tier 3.

The results are all over the place (some already ranking very very high on competitive terms, others are not even showing up yet), but it hasn't had time to settle out at all (been a mere 2 days since it was finally finished entirely).
Curious why people are saying slow = better now, or if it's just mythos being spread around without any real testing.

I use seed articles that are highly readable (manually done up and written) and over 350,000 words (some have 1-2 million words, but these are only used as tier 2s) when finished.

I'm definitely not ready to say "it doesn't work", as it hasn't been enough time, so I'm curious how other people have tested this so fast considering penguin was only around a month ago. I started testing new spam methods right away, and I'm fairly certain I'm one of only about 10-15 people in SEO who can even do what I just did... (have never encountered a site that has been spammed like the above)

Previously, before penguin, if you did anything resembling the above, it would work brilliantly well. So I was anxious to see if this was the case still. The results are definitely coming in slower now!
Sites I did only manual blog comments, directory links, and such are all #1 or #2 in their respective niches, but I unfortunately did not try this on a challenging niche for these sites.

I agree that results are VERY slow comparitively speaking. Seems to be taking twice as long (if not longer) to rank anything now. And I'm seeing the same mixed bag of results. Same link method with keywords of equal competition/traffic and getting very different results. One will rank top 5, the other will be off on page 4. No rhyme or reason. But as you've said and demonstrated numerous times now, NOTHING makes sense from google right now...

Interesting outcome on the manual followed blog comments and dir links...What kind of volume are you talking about with the links given the level of competition for the KW?

Thanks for your insights. As always, HIGHLY useful info.

Talking less than 30 total comments and only to directories with PR above 1 (I have around 1000 sites as such, but many will never approve any free links so the actual numbers wind up being in the 50-100 range)
Also added the sites to places like yelp and many ******** ones...

Unfortunately, the terms are so weak I can gather no real information about the benefits yet.

This site has been stably at #1, while these 5 others as part of that huge campaign are bouncing all over the place. Some even showing up some days at #3 for some people... as my piwik clued me in.

I'm noticing the same. Just done a new site, done around 20 PR2+ DF (quite niche-relevant) comments, a few contextual links on a private blog network, and I've hit Page One within a week, with very little anchor diversity. Majestic is only showing 12 referring domains and I've hit page one. Penguin is a very strange beast.

If the above slow link building works (obviously it cannot work in the long term for a competitive niche, as every person and their mother can do that kind of link building) in competitive niches, it'd be a huge paradigm shift. I'm seeing strange strange results the more I research top sites and their backlinks. Paid blogrolls or homepage links and manual comments (and directories) seems to be how page 1 is working now. This is stupid, obviously. I'm hoping these tools I've built still work for tier 1s otherwise SEO just became a lot more ridiculous.

Just FYI, bing and yahoo appear to be indexing this stuff a lot faster than previously, evidence of my suspicion that bing's engine updated around 2 weeks ago and improved significantly on it's algorithmic detections.

All 5 sites are in the top 7 for their respective keywords on bing/yahoo, even if google hasn't "decided" what to do with them yet... but instead wants to keep the horrific content they have on the first page there while they "evalute it"

The site I did the comments on I simply stopped backlinking a mth ago, and the stupid thing kept going up... started at #11, went up to #3... then slowly went up to #1 (no content added or links added)...

Are you still managing to maintain a natural looking link profile expert, or is it becoming very heavy in Web 2.0's?

What the hell does a natural looking link profile even mean?
I'm seeing page 1 of million dollar/mth terms filled with people who have only blogrolls and jibberish surrounded paid links on homepages.

However, each site only gets around 500-600 tier 1 web 2.0s... that's really nothing at all, especially compared to what worked months ago.

A natural link profile would come almost entirely from forums and blog posts afterall.... so I'm not too sure what is "allowed" and "not allowed" by the engine right now. Sites with forum posts and such aren't even ranking... what I'm seeing is paid links heavily, redirects and just people who have seemed to "luck" into it (ie. their profile of links are terrible and full of SB spam but for some reason the algorithm has chosen them)

If it doesn't work, it doesn't work. I'm thinking web 2.0 building like the above is dead, but if the solution is "build links manually to rank" SEO is changing forever... and for the worse.

how do you create seed articles for the tier one web 2.o properties and how do distribute them on the tier 1 properties. do you scrape relevant articles, mix and mash them together , clean them up a little and then run them through a spinner along with a char spinner or do you have manual content written and have it spun manually for tier 1's. do you use a single huge article or have many articles in spintax and use them for submission with your bots?

and how do you build out your tier one web 2.o properties? are they single post properties or do you first post 3-5 articles without links to build them out and then post the content with your links on them.

and how is your content like for tier 2 properties. scraped and spun?
