I know a lot of people weren't sure of a good way to find their competitor's backlinks since YSE shut down. This is a simple and often overlooked trick that I use to find sites direct linking to my competitor. (sites indexed by Google, which are usually the only important ones anyways).

Go to Google, copy/paste the code below into the search box, and click search:

Code:
link:www.blackhatworld.com -site:www.blackhatworld.com

Thats it! Just replace blackhatworld.com with the URL of your competitor and you'll see all sites directly linking to that page. The first operator tells Google to show pages linking to the URL. The second tells Google to remove links coming from the same domain.

---------------------------------------------------------------

Now, if you want to get a little more indepth, you can change the first operator to a particular page of the site (ex: blackhatworld.com/blackhat-seo/). If you want to look a bit further through their link structure, take some of the sites you get from your first results and plug them into the code. This will give you an idea if they are just direct linking or if they have some type of link pyramid/wheels going on.

Another good way to do this is to use the search operators as a custom footprint in Scrapebox. That way you can scrape the domains and filter out the list some. I usually sort them by PR to go after some of the higher PR sites linking to my competitor.

You do realize Google doesn't display ALL backlinks, right?

Yes, but they show a good majority of them. The people who would find this useful would be ranking low to medium competition sites, which is where it's most effective. Anyone ranking a high competition site should already have better tools for the job.

BTW, same DamageX as the one in the adult industry?

Google shows a very small portion of the total backlinks. I just pulled up one site as an example. Google shows 51 links, Majestic shows 273,473.

This isn't really a good solution for anything.

If you add -site: it really starts showing some :)

Absolutely pointless post.. eeeeh how about ya check G for "check backlinks"

The -site: thing does seem to pull up way more links that just the regular :link search.

I never new that before.

Rep to the OP.

Wow you dont know what Majestic seo or ahref is do you ?

I hope he have used it in some way himself to rank sites above competitors. Useless method for me though.

wow my penalized site returning 91,300 results, seems like my competitors are blasting the hell out of my website

Doesn't seem to work if there's a hyphen in the domain name, unless my competitor really does have 18 million backlinks.
