Sites Gone? Google Update? WTF

My small 10 pages site ,not updated in a year with backlinks to my main site just outperformed my main site: 5 years old, hundreds of pages, authority for the niche (last week guys form Deloitte come to get an interview). Still page #1 though.
That's just plain stupid.

I was thinking about panda and latest updates..(even this one...if it's an update)...then I changed my point of view and I understand that G give us more power than what we think...try to answer this questions:

Why people use G as search engine?

What happen if ppl find crap in first position?

The techniques that push your site down in the SERPs could be applied to another website?

try to answer and think what happen if all of this will be mixed together... I think G while building Panda give us a tank ready to shoot and every time they make it stronger they give us a stronger tank....

ahaha no, I'm not. It's just another point of view. Shooting each other will only be a loose of time and it's pointless.
 
My homepage fell -1000...from #3 to nowhere in G. Now there are new sites in the top 10. 4 of them are total shit, one is PDF...this wasn't there before the fall.

I will change my host and try to do some changes ont he homepage. Will see what happend then
 
So nobody noticed any of their sites come back?
 
No, not untill know. Still dancing between 60 and 80.
I start to drive paid traffic onto the site and see if the changes something.
 
God... went from top 3 in niche to out of top 100 on all keywords on both money sites during march's blog network slap

Actually crawled slowly back into top 100 and top 50 on a couple kw, then as of today not even top 100 again.

Everyone is telling me on-page content, but there's sites that survived both these slaps and thrown into top 3.... who have NO ON PAGE CONTENT. NONE. I don't mean bare... I mean NONE. In a niche dominated by big spending brands, now there's even a bunch of nobodies up there wtf?

I have got an spanish one. 2 of the keywords drop an reappear after 2 or 3 days. It has been happening over the last two weeks.

I think Matt Cutts is reading this thread and is laughing at us....

So people, patience is a virtue.... wait more time.
 
Same here. Many ranks down & I am surprise whats Google doing. I am using unique content to articles, web 2.0. and now showed this results. What is the exact solution to get again rankings in Google. I am looking for aggressively.
 
I'd like to know what effect submitting your site for reconsideration has, if any.

On the one hand you are removing bad links and doing what google has asked, so perhaps they give you a break and remove penalties.

On the other hand submitting one proves to Google that you built the links and that you were trying to manipulate rankings as opposed to someone else building spam to your site to try and get it penalized.
 
Do you guys check your rankings in Bing and Yahoo? My site wasn't ranking there before the fall, but now I have a similar positions there as before in G

I've seen very similar results, dead links or urls that don't exist, sub pages, all ranked highly for keywords.
 
I've been ranking there before, and am without any changes whatsoever. Bing and Yahoo represented yesterday 50% of my traffic, what is something that never happened to me before. It seems like the algorithm of Yahoo and Bing is now very different to the one Goolge is using, especially in terms of link evaluation.

Hmmm that's all well n good, however how long can IM's keep on building sites, MNS or authority? Spend hours/days/weeks/months/years (even letting their families come second fiddle to IM, in search of a better life for the family). Add to that Spending money, good money, they put aside for their children's education. Have their wives/husbands nagging that they should be saving their hard earned cash not risking it on 'some stupid internet fantasy pipe dream'.

Here I am, laying in bed having my 'motivational moment' with BHW, then stumble upon this thread. Of course, I'm going to read something that's dead important because I try not to burry my head 'in the sand'.

Now I'm torn because I've just put an order in for my first MNS with a view to slowly build up an empire (ish) of MNS sites (for all the reasons I mentioned above)

If I fail, because of some latest 'Google dance', Panda part duex or whatever we decide to call April 14th then I'm not sure what i'll do, besides painfully explaining to the wife (most likely ex wife by then), that what little we have is what we'll always have...

What would you do guys?


1. Build an email list and drip feed them on CB products?

2. Build an app or software?

3. Your choice, tell me and your fellow BHW members!

Quite literally this whole Apr14th is either going to make or break some people, fast... For those that are at their wits end with this I totally empathise and shame on anyone that says 'eggs in one basket' because I often read that people should 'stick to one thing and concentrate on that' too.

Interested to hear anyone's thoughts
