Sites Gone? Google Update? WTF

One of my very good friends told me buildmyrank and linkvana both got nabbed by google recently. So there's substance to all this it seems. I'm hearing from people who have been using other link building services with the same results.

I been using HPS, FTS, DFB, IMA, and numerous services frm BHW all mixed together crazily as possible. Maybe it has something to do with numerous layers of link building.

Two of my sites ranking didn't changed. Another site of mine ranked #3 is gone; ranked #5 is gone. :(
Hopefully this fixes itself soon or something, ...

For those who are talking webmaster tools and GA being a problem. The only site I had that got slapped wasn't using either of these. I have quite a few sites that were and they haven't been touched. So it hasn't got anything to do with that! I am guessing the over optimization update that Matt Cutts mentioned is now in play! If you are over optimizing for a narrow group of keywords you can expect to be slapped. That is what i noticed for the site I lost! The key factors of my site where.

1) a young site under 4 months old
2) quite low keyword variance.

So far i don't see changes but can be sure once the day is over at Google Analytics. Also i never use any paid service. I think Google is strictly going against paid services.

it might be a problem related with the hosting company.until now just HG and 1and1 have this problem.

not sure if it helps, but those slapped sites of mine got hit by 490-499 positions. Seems to me like 500 penalty or something (if such thing exists)

I started a new site few weeks ago and was doing everything careful and slow. Fresh unique content and few bookmarks and web 2.0s. Mt ranking was shooting up everyday by doing this and now "GONE COMPLETELY". I thought I was getting the hang of the whole ranking website but I guess not smh.

Actually my site was hosted at hostgator. That is interesting!

i m preety sure that is ip related problem.i ve just been hit on 3 more sites.2 sites are fresh(2 3 months old) without any kind of backlinks on them.

My site is at hostwinds and was also affected, so can't be for sure that it's a problem with the hosting company, but who knows

This is a diversity thing. It is not about diversity of backlinks but about diversity of sites. The people who are most effected are the people with the least amounts of sites. Yet people are still saying to put all your effort into one "authority" site. That's crap advice.

It seems like Google pressed a "shuffle all results button." It seems like they've pressed that button a few times this year. One way to deal with it is to analyze all the changes and try to make sense out of chaos. The other way would be to build, build, build, backlink, backlink, backlink, build, build, build, backlink, backlink, backlink, build, build, build, backlink, backlink, backlink. If you just build and backlink with each shuffle you will be sure to have some properties that drop and others that rise.

That's not exactly true. I've got less than 5 sites, and I didn't lose any rankings at all. They've been rock solid, even climbing for a few keywords.

BH 2.0 is not the prob. The only site I have that survived WAS the BH2.0

black hole 2.0

I'm literally only on week 2 with it and both sites I've used any SEO services or linkbuilding on has vanished from results.
So annoying!!!

For everyone complaining here.. Really, what do you expect??

Sooner or later if you are building spammy backlinks, google will end up destroying your business!

This is why SEO is a game, which google being the one who decides the outcome each and every time.

Your hands will always be in the mercy of google and from a business standpoint, you never want to give that control of your business to someone else.

I had a site created that took me months and a lot of hard earned money and google decided right off the bat it would never rank it for what ever reason.

I am not saying I dont build spammy backlinks, but you have to know that this would happen eventually and it will happen again.

Fuck google!

Just wait this shit out people. Do you think what Google has done will last? Think about the huge market for negative SEO services. I think people have a pretty good idea why Google is slapping sites (blog networks, etc.). Get your competitors a few links or maybe even a few thousand. :D The path to recovery requires some common sense both now and in the future. Delete any association you have with Google as you can. This includes webmaster tools, analytics, Google + and even Adsense if CPA will work for you. With a new industry being born (negative SEO) and people flocking away from Google products as fast as they can, how long does anyone think this shit will really last? Google can't stop link spam, but they can try to put the fear of GOD into everyone. But as more people drop Google products, they will eventually see that devaluing backlinks is the only sure way to deal with the problem. Otherwise, instead of link building for our own sites it will be a freaking free for all in spamming the shit out of competitors. That will make link spam all the harder for Google to deal with and make the web a shithole until Google finally publicly states that backlinks will no longer be a signal used to calculate the ranks of sites. ~ Peace and prosperity to All (except Google that is).

Sites are NOT being hit b/c of what hosting company you are with...lets put that theory to rest, not really logical...

That's great and I sincerely hope that trend continues for you. I still say putting all your eggs in one basket is crap advice though.

I wasn't really effected by this update either. Due to the chatter at BHW I did a few rank checks and noticed one of my sites dropped from #1 to #3 but it is one I haven't worked on for a while so it may not be related to this update.
