After the ALN/BMR debacle I'm having a really hard time finding a good SEO service that is worth buying. Most of the common backlinks like articles, bookmarks, 2.0's can be bought on Fiverr for cheap but they really don't boost rankings much.

Could anybody recommend a service that they have actually used and gotten good results from?

I think you're looking for substitute blog networks.. you can find a handful in the services for sale section. There are ones there which offer limited slots only.
 
Go through the services and look at the reviews. There are plenty of services that work. Remember to diversitise your links, you will probably find that you will need to purchase 3 or 4 services offering different link types to get some real good lasting results.

Also remember, whilst blog networks can give you a quick boost, they are normally not a long term solution as part of your SEO plan, as they could be de-indexed at any moment, leaving you with a huge penalty.
 
Are there any that you guys would recommend? There are tons of ads in the sales section..

I'm actually looking for ANY service that gets a site to #1, doesn't just have to be blog networks.

No one can guarantee you #1 place.

Just get all kinds of mixed links (bookmarks, profiles, web2, articles, video links, blog links) in a decent quantity

make sure you vary your anchor text appropriately. ex if u're trying to rank for get rid of acne, use anchors like -

get rid of acne
get rid of acne site
removal of acne
get rid of pimples
get rid of acne website
etc..

Just add to the list of anchors:
"click here"
"http://mysiite.com/something.html" (i.e. bare url as the anchor)

That looks a lot more natural :)
 
Yep, its all about diversification these days. As others have mentioned make sure when you purchase services that the service provider will include "Panda friendly" keywords. Such as click here, visit website, etc.

If they don't, use part of your order to allocate links towards these panda friendly keywords. That way you can get the best bang for your buck and LASTING rankings.

I've bought social bookmarks in the past from a guy I think his name's Crazed on Fiverr and other than that I've been buying SEO gigs from a guy named Backling. Both do good work!
