We got our first Google Place Optimization client a few days ago. Our client is a criminal attorney with his own law firm. We generated the lead using the same FedEx envelop method we used to get our first Reputation management client (see thread in this forum called "IN BUSINESS: Reputation management")

The client took our Gold package for $1,000/mo for 3 months and then a "maintenance" mode after the initial 3 months. This package gives him 5 keywords ranked in Google Places. We are now up-selling him on a mobile optimized website, video production and our larger google optimization package. I would show you a copy of the check like I did in our reputation management thread but this client paid with a credit card right in his office!

Lucky for me I had an iPad with a Square reader and was able to swipe his card right there on the spot. For those of you that don't know about Square it is a payment company started by the creator of Twitter. Every Square account comes with a small dongle (card reader) that plugs into the head phone jack of your iPhone or iPad and allows you to swipe credit cards.

All you do is sign up for a free Square account, download the app to your mobile device, plug in the dongle and take payments! There are no monthly fees and they wire the money to your bank the next business day. The client has been paying another SEO company $500 a month for nearly a year with no movement in the SERPs. No results at all. After further research it is apparent that the previous SEO company has not done much SEO at all. Since the client is in a very competitive market I recommended that we focus on Google Places optimization instead of organic SEO methods. Google Places Optimization is quicker and cheaper than traditional SEO.

We have already started work on this project and will keep you updated.

Way to go! - Enjoyed your other thread as well.

I am now looking to see if there is something available in the UK that lets your iPad become a PDQ machine!

It was a pleasure to read about your business success. Keep on getting new leads and customers

Do you provide guarantees to your client for Google Places? Also, do you have a standard agreement for Google Places, I'm tired of creating individual contracts for SEO, Adwords, SMM and GP.

It is great service but unfortunately it is still available to USA Only ?

So in essence you get these clients by just sending letters?

Great work yet again, congratulations!
I am focusing solely on Google Places and am now also doing optimisation work for others on here for there clients.
The letter system does work, you just have to persevere with it.

We DO NOT guarantee Google Places rankings because we do not control Google. We cannot guarantee clicks because we do not control searchers. We cannot guarantee sales since we are not the sales staff.

If we have a prospect who is on the fence about taking our service I'll tell them that if we don't rank them for their chosen keywords by the end of the 3rd month we will continue to work on ranking these keywords at no cost to them.

We do use a standard agreement for all of our services including Google Places Optimization, Online Reputation Management, Mobile Marketing & more.

We went to the post office to send another batch of FedEx envelopes today. We are running some split tests on our campaigns and will report back without findings.

Congrats again! I use square as well, it seems to have a pretty good response from the clients and comes across more professional as well. Did your client ask to see an example of someone that you have ranked on GP before?

Congrats !!
Can you please explain some things you tell them why they should pay you to optimize their google places listing, after you agree on meeting with them. I.e. what do you tell them once you meet them :) I am struggling to understand/justify why I am charging xxx$ for my services because I've never a had a client before, hence I don't know how they will respond to my offer.

I appreciate your help!

How do you rank them on google places? Im trying to learn about it but havent found much about google palces optimization .

I agree with this guy.

I was expecting the first post to be this, not some dude saying how successful he is doing getting clients.

Congrats to the OP.. I hope for your continued success..As for individuals who were hoping to learn more about GP optimization, there are some fine shares throughout BHW...If your still have trouble just send me a PM..

Again, OP great to see the effort with results!!! I have a few attorneys and although it's competitive...success will be yours.. :)

Focusing on Google Places has helped my business (and of course my clients) tremendously. This has proven especially true when the product or service is a non-geo specific term. Also, in my experience the traffic coming from a place listing has a higher conversion rate.

Congrats to the OP , reading this gave me some ideas; I remember coming across a BHW share with a mail out strategy to offline business. Clients like guarantees, how about analyzing their circumstances and see what if is doable then offer something like a 120 day guarantee, after this they stop paying until you deliver.

Google Places optimization are just like a boon for Small businesses. With Google Local searches, people easily finds the local business and locality.
