How to increase REPUTATION in BHW

I heard that if you have lots of reputation on BHW that Google makes it easier for you to rank!

I think you deserve some REPUTATION for simultaneously living in three different countries. And for having over 400 posts and not knowing what REPUTATION is. And for being here for almost a year and not knowing what REPUTATION is.

Folks! My reputation is 50 and I REAAAAAAAALLY hate the number 5 (5 in my life = catastrophes), it sticks in 50 for more than 1 week. Can anyone give me -1 or +10? so i get to 49 or 60 it doesn't matter :D

PS: I'm fucking serious guys!!!!

The question should have been, "How many + reputation points can one member have? Let's find out and press the badge beside "Blog this Post" located below."

As all mentioned, you get reputation based on posts you make. Sometimes I will share something really good and get a lot of Thanks and a couple +Rep and sometimes I will share something that I think is an OK share and get a lot of +Rep and occasionally, you'll find the person that will give you a -Rep. Jr. VIP members can see the names of those who give them a +/-Rep.

Also, reps are not only tied to threads that you start. Many times they are provided based on extra insight you give to a particular subject. I think it is fair to say that posts that tend to be closer to the original post are most likely to receive a Thanks or Rep since they will be read more than those further down.

I may be wrong, but there are times when I've come to BHW and seen MY rep score (currently 8) increase without having received a +rep. I think there are certain Posts/Thanks/Thanked/Rep/Age thresholds that the system may take into consideration. Not sure...

Either way, having stats beside your name are useful since it shows that people appreciate your time and effort. Since BHW no longer covers Email Marketing, I am not on here as often as I use to be but I still come on and try to help folks out (like I am right now).

1. Account age and post count are a factor as well as the manual points given/taken away by other members.

2. The higher your reputation score is, the higher your "rep power", which is the the number of points you can give or take away from another member.

3. Your negative rep power is half of your positive rep power. Ex. If your rep power is 14, your negative rep will remove 7 points from another user.

4. Only Jr VIP and above can give negative reputation.

5. Newbies can only give neutral reputation (no points).
 
If you don't know how the forum stats work even after being here for 8 months, then you don't deserve even the current reps you have.

This just means you have not given reps to anyone over the past 8 months.. sad...
 
whats so great about reputation? post good stuff because you want to not because it will make others boost your ego
 
Fastest way to increase REP is to give stuff away....if you have a site, offer to post backlinks or if you have a big social media account, offer to do free tweets/status updates etc....
