Tools for sucess

I've recently joined this forum not knowing exactly what it's all about. After about 12 hours of reading through some threads and PDF's, I've painted a mental picture. Unfortunately I'm still at the ground level and would like to know where to begin.

Let me let you in on a little story.

Over the last few weeks I've been depressed. What it was that was causing it? I had no clue. Not only that, my girlfriend was starting to get worried. Yesterday morning I came to the conclusion that I feel like I'm just turning my wheels (waking up, go to work, sleep, repeat). Hours after that I realized something. That was the fact that I felt deep down inside that I had a burning passion to be apart of something. Sure I repair computers for one of the largest company in the world but working there just makes me feel smaller. Especially if I'm barely making ends meat.

I came across this site last night, well, rather really early this morning. I was on another forum that I've been with for over 7 years. While browsing that forum I clicked a series of links and ended up here laughing my butt off at on of the Photoshop threads. Little did I know what I stumbled upon.

I woke up this afternoon and logged back on and for some reason I could not find out how exactly I ended up here, I could not replicate the same series of links to get here. Was it fate? Who knows.

Point is, I'm here now. I'm driven, and focused on a goal. That goal is not to specifically make money, but to unleash myself and see what exactly I'm capable of.

If there is anyone out there that can honestly read all of this and understand me, please post. I would like to hear some feedback and hopefully get the ball rolling.

What is the point of creating this thread? Are you wondering about how to make money? That answer is all over this forum, in every thread. Do you wonder what kind of tools you need to succeed? Your brain is the answer to that.
Do you seek advice on how to make your life better? I'm not completely sure that this is the right place to discuss that, but money sure do help making it feel better.

If you're tired of your job, I think you should look for another one. Again, if you can't quit... Exactly where in life are you?

I was being over analytical about it and I apologize. It's easily me best and worst trait.

Basically I'm just asking one question.

Where to begin? My idea is to create a blog for consumer electronics. I have some money to invest in web hosting and I know the following languages:HTML5. CSS3, XML, and very little PHP/ASP. I understand that there is more to it than that and that's kind of my problem. I can create the site, but how to I generate the same type of architecture (the business within the blog that the average person doesn't see) that everyone else on this forum seems to already understand?

There are lots of beginners thread already and you just have to search on the forums for them. Read everything and anything. Your understanding takes time, so you won't learn this overnight. Also take a look at the stickied threads as those have some very valuable information in them.

I'll say that I feel your pain. I'm going through the same thing at the moment. I've been at my job for 13+ years and make good money but I want to make a difference on my own and I know I have the skillset to do it. I've been lurking on here the past week or so. There are TONS of ways to make money without dealing with scams. You just have to put the time and effort into it and think a little. Keep reading like I am and get some ideas. Make sure you're mind isn't just set in making money, make sure it's something you will enjoy doing and have a passion for. From there you will succeed. I have ideas on what I want to do, but I'm going to get all my ducks in a row before I do it. Then I plan on taking a month of time-off/vacation from work to give it a shot. If it works how I intend it to, I will quit my job and start my new and exciting life that I always wanted.

The stickies my friend. Comb through the relevant sections and read them all - it'll probably take you an afternoon to get through them but you'll walk away with a basic understanding of how to setup a project and how to monetize it. Post questions, leverage the collective knowledge of the community - welcome aboard.

Some of it is a little out dated but it should get some wheels turning. The main thing you have to know though is that making money online is not easy. In fact it is very difficult. I would even call upon the poker saying, "It's a hard way to make an easy living.".

The second thing you have to know is to simply take action. An ounce of experience is worth a ton of theory. Get out there and stick with a plan.

My 3 rules to succeeding are "Hard work, dedication and consistency." They seem to get me on track.
