More than half a million Apple computers have been infected with the Flashback Trojan, according to a Russian anti-virus firm.

FB Spamming? There's an app for that.

yes. when there are more and more people who use mac, the hackers will be more and more interested to bring malware to macs.

Undoubtedly mac is still generally more secure compared to windows but this article just shows that nothing is invincible.

I personally use mac because it's way easier and cleaner for multitasking (thanks to spaces). also by using mac i can basically dual boot my mac, one for windows and another OS for mac os x. i know the hardware is more expensive but price has never been an issue for me. I like my mac mini because if it gets broken I can just put it into my bag and use my motorcycle to claim for warranty. (so far never had problem with it though)

I also use macbook simply because the touchpad feature in OS X Lion makes it way easier compared to windows 7 laptops.

Im not here to argue though as im not an apple fanboy. I do have galaxy nexus and lumia 800 so I know apple is not perfect. I personally believe windows 8 can be way better than mountain lion but we dont know until both come out.

Just in case you guys didn't know, there's also another Mac virus which haves you install Mac Protector, a fake version of Mac Defender, which in fact DOES steal credit card info.

so all that talk of "MAC CANT GET NO VIRUS" needs to stop NOW

Mac's and malware is just old news. I am not going to talk more on this topic, but yes there are way way more advanced things that are more dangerous, just like how Zeus was to PCs.

Well, I'll admit Zeus was stabbed by skiddies lol but yeah...

A few *word removed for security reasons* are in the underground *censored* but that's about it.

Nothing was ever secure. Not even a linux.

Fuck, when I bought my Mac, I remember the sales guy boasting about saying, "You see.. compared to something like Windows, you don't get viruses on the Mac.."

Well.. looks like he was wrong.

I have a MAC, but I wonder how to make windows run in my MAC? can anyone help me, I had tried to do it myself once but it was a big fail. I have MAC OS X so if anyone can find me a easy step by step guide or site, I would really appreciate it :) thanks

Now no one will say that Macs dont have viruses

I can shout proudly that I use Windows....I knew this will happen one day

OP:how do you type your username...just curious :)

thanks

Hell yea, the only reason why MACs had less viruses before is that the people that make the viruses want to effect as many computers as possible and MACs were far less possible.

The unbearable truth in the eternal debate about whose OS has the largest... is that all the 3 of them suck. :-) Each one in its own special way.

Mac is not invulnerable. It is not even less vulnerable than a PC.

Why would you waste your time programming something that targets almost nobody?

That's why PC users have to beware of viruses.. Because they are a member of the overwhelming majority.

But hey.. It might start happening more now.. I'd argue that Mac's security is largely untested in comparison with other platforms. However, if it takes Apple almost a year to patch their users systems.......

Well.. looks like he was wrong.

He wasnt wrong it just wasnt really known, and the virus makers wouldnt want it to get out to quickly anyway because they would lose out quicker.
