This was brought to my attention, missed it at the time coz I wasn't on the Internets (havin fun instead) :D

story http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Yahoo!_Auctions

More like Yahoo realized that it didn't have a sizable share and couldn't compete so it shut down the service to focus on areas it could compete in.

Why would this be a conspiracy?:confused:

Why would this be a conspiracy?:confused:

redirecting all customers/traffic to Ebay?
How many major auction sites exist now? 1 Ebay's monopoly.
Yahoo's free model could of gained ground especially as Yahoo still had weight back then.

just a thought...if I could prove it I would be killed ;)

I really feel sorry for some of you guys. Everywhere you look you're seeing conspiracies. It must be genuinely horrible to feel so paranoid all the time. :(

Mate, get a sense of humour, its's Monday morning for fk sake...:roll eyes:
next you'll be telling me we REALLY landed on the Moon....

Conspiracy theories usually go against a consensus or cannot be proven.

lol. Fail.

Conspiracy theories are the product of armchair scientists and the mentally ill who think the world is against them.

I've known 100's of EXTREMELY intelligent people, real scientists, mathematicians, biologists, chemists, computer scientists, philosophers etc and I've never met a single one who believes in any of these conspiracy theories.

The only people who believe in them are the sort of people who learn science from the discovery channel and think physics is 'common sense'. :-) Ie, the people who think that wide tyres give you more grip because there's more surface area. That = example of fail. :-)

A lot of things "can't be proven". That's meaningless. It's "pop logic". "Oh, it can't be proven, therefore there's a chance it's right!"

It may very well be that the entire world except me are aliens and I've been kidnapped from my real planet and taken here to suffer the ramblings of paranoid delusional people. It can't be proven though.. Conspiracy theories result from faulty logic. People conclude things from a bunch of entirely unrelated events. It's called logical fallacies. If I see fat people all around me and I conclude I'm going to get fat then that's a logical fallacy. The 2 things are entirely unrelated, but to the "pop scientist" they seem like solid evidence because the "pop scientist" doesn't understand critical thinking.

Yahoo needs a fuckin conspiracy. Nothing else will work.

Heh. I'm going to stop it from now on. :-)
please do!

"Conspiracy theories usually go against a consensus or cannot be proven"

I gave you the dictionary definition ^

1. Get a sense of humour.
2. If by definition 'conspiracy theories' cannot be proven why are you getting upset, bursting your bubble, and ranting at how 'everyone else' is stupid for their beliefs? can God be proven? plenty of people seem to believe in God. Rightly or wrongly.
3. If people choose to believe something who the fuck are you to tell them they are wrong. ;) (there are thousands of scientists who believe in God)

case closed.

Wow, you've just created the biggest straw-man I've ever seen. Congratulations.

How exactly did you manage to turn my statement about it only being paranoid delusional people that believe the world is out to get them into me saying that god doesn't exist and no scientists believe in god?

You really are quite insane, buddy.

I think you're actually trying to prove that conspiracy theories are valid because people believe in god, including scientists. Well, you've just gone right ahead and proven what I said in the last post about people who believe in these conspiracy theories..

They lack the ability of critical thinking.

You've just shown a prime example of how people come to believe in conspiracies. The logical fallacy.

Let me spell out your logical fallacy.

1) Intelligent people believe in God.
2) No one's proven the existence of God.

Conclusion: Intelligent people must also believe in conspiracy theories because conspiracy theories can't be proven.

*facepalm*

So you just take the world at face value? That's the biggest mistake anyone could ever make!

lol. Fail.

Here's another example of someone who can't think critically.

He thinks because I don't believe in conspiracy theories it means I'm gullible. This is the kind of leaps in logic these people make and why they conclude the world is run by reptiles because they were pulled over by that cop last week and the price of oil is has gone up.

Your wrong about that! And you don't want to get me started on you I'm due for a Ban :) Anyways, I think your just scared that some of these "theories" could be true.

"You're"

I haven't experienced fear in my life for years. Literally not a single bit of fear in a long long time. The thought of feeling fear that the world is out to get me and the government is actually a bunch of reptiles is so laughable to me, you have no idea, really. :)

Yeah Facepalm from me from your conclusion.

actually conclusion = people can believe whatever they want including scientists who have had to adjust their theories to accommodate new facts, current scientific thinking is Planet Earth is 'floating' in space. This has not always been the case.

It may be one day that the CIA admits to killing JFK. Then it ceases to be 'theory' and becomes 'fact'.

"You really are quite insane, buddy." :china: not insane and not your buddy.

Im not a believer in 'conspiracy theories' but I see no harm in them and they don't stress me like they seem to stress you.

In my world people can believe any old shit they want, just don't knock at my door and try to convert me.

"I've known 100's of EXTREMELY intelligent people, real scientists, mathematicians, biologists, chemists, computer scientists, philosophers etc" LOL yeah right you are son...:o

Now as for the mentally ill paranoid delusional people could just be that they are right ...but it seems you are the only one who knows whats real. Must be great being right all the time.

Yeah Facepalm from me from your conclusion.

Oh gosh, I guess this is what I get for arguing with, no offence, but people who aren't too sharp.

It wasn't *my* conclusion. It was YOUR conclusion. I was re-writing in a more succinct way what you wrote with your nonsense about scientists and god, which have nothing to do with anything.

actually conclusion = people can believe whatever they want including scientists who have had to adjust their theories to accommodate new facts, current scientific thinking is Planet Earth is 'floating' in space. This has not always been the case.

Why do you keep rattling on about this scientist stuff? I'm a scientist and I believe in a creator. You're really barking up the wrong tree.

"You really are quite insane, buddy." :china: not insane and not your buddy.

Sure you are, buddy. Just because I'm having a little go at you doesn't mean I don't like you. :) I'm just playing, none of this is actually serious. If you needed my help with something I would gladly give it to you despite the fact you believe in crazy things. :) Just because I say you're dumb to tease you doesn't mean you really are or I think you are.

Im not a believer in 'conspiracy theories' but I see no harm in them and they don't stress me like they seem to stress you.

They don't stress me. As I said I'm just playing.

If you don't believe in them, then, bleh. I'm also barking up the wrong tree too.

Cool. My universe is the same.

It's fantastic, yes! It's one of the benefits of being a turtle.
