More pages indexed showing under google webmaster tools...that is good...BUT....the kw's that were ranking all dropped. Still NOTHING ranking on google or bing. Very discouraging. Adding another article today, then will spread it over all social media sites.

@netmoney1:
BIG question: Why do you upload articles targeting the same keyword???? I don't get that.

BIG question: Why do you upload articles targeting the same keyword???? I don't get that.

I am targeting 5 keywords...right now I am adding 1 new article a day....so each keyword gets a new article every 5 days. Not sure what your question is. Why wouldn't I be writing articles about my target keywords??

2 KW's now showing up in Google #177, #179...we will see if any more show up today. Fingers crossed.

You should be targeting a different keyword for each new article. By targeting the same set over and over again limits your potential traffic.

How many would you suggest? Just a new one each time? Use variation and log tail variations? Any mention of the kw's in the articles?

I am following this thread. I have just started a blog and now i am getting traffic (negligible) without sharing links. I am happy with it but it i want to do more. this thread is proving helpful

netmoney1,

I still think you should analyze your competition more.. Even though those sites may look crappy to you, they are ranking, and there must be a reason for that.

I'd analyze their backlink profiles, social media shares (tweets, likes and the like), the amount of user generated content they have, the kind of content they have, the anchor texts they're using.

Here is the tool I normally use to see competitor's BLs SEO SpyGlass Backlink Checker Software: X-Ray Your Competition The free version will let you see just a portion, but you can still draw conclusions out of that.

Also, make your SEO efforts as diverse as you can, Don't use the same anchor text over and over again. Don't repeat the same keyword over and over again, use synonyms. There was a good thread here on BHW about how to diversify your anchor texts:

[Guide] Dealing with Over Optimization - The Sky Isn't Falling!

Besides, keep in mind that one quality backlink is usually worth many a crappy backlink. Some folks here have recommended forum posting, blog commenting, press release marketing, article marketing, guest blogging, etc. Go for it, especially as you can write well and fast. But pick better blogs, directories and forums over low-quality ones, and better spend more time working on them, than commenting on hundreds of web 2.0 properties and getting little to no result.

There are many do-follow blog, forum and directory lists here on BHW. For example, this one.

Again, good luck :)

To improve page rank and alexa rank, optimize the website using seo on page and off page techniques. On page techniques includes keyword analysis, meta tags implementation with title or anchor text, list of keywords to be targeted, description, header tags implementation, robot txt, image optimization, html and xml site map creation and submission to google, content linking optimization etc.
Off page techniques includes directory submission, article submission, blog commenting, social media submission, rss feeds, social bookmarking, press release submission and Classifieds add postings which helps to generate quality backlinks and direct traffic to your website.

omg. I was hoping you didn't made that mistake :(....

Aside from the article I posted this morning to the site...

Just cranked out a 650 word unique high quality article and converted it to a PDF with the domain as the anchor text....uploaded it to 10 high PR doc sharing sites.

I agree about the KW's and reigning in your focus a bit. I would stick with a primary and secondary keyword per page, not 5. Work in themes that keep the focus using internal links and navigation.

This is a good thread and I look forward to watching your progress. The bickering and baiting bullshit is extremely annoying to sift through. Had I the power to silence it, it would have ended on Page 1.

Keep up the good work..
