XSServer.eu to stop allowing seo tools - Real or April's fool ?

Just got this email from XSServer.eu :

From past few months we are facing lots of issues from SPAMHAUS they have blacklisted all our IPs due to ongoing complaints from forum SPAM, from now onwards we are not allowing those SEO tools i.e XRUMER or Scrapebox etc, our network provider is suspending all the IPs which are active on forum spam and which are listed on http://www.stopforumspam.com/ , please note that once your IPs are blocked we will assign you clean un-used IP for $10 extra charge and if again the new IP is blocked then the server will be suspended permanently.

Please note that this email is only for those customers who are using our servers for Forum SPAM.

If you have any question please do not hesitate to open a support ticket.

What's silly is that VPS are that : VPS. You're not the only one using one IP, so it sounds crazy to charge customers for a new IP once they are banned because of another customer spamming from the same node.

I use a VPS from xsserver to run tools including SB and I always use proxies.
Though my VPS' IP is listed on stopforumspam.com, and I can say for sure the reported spams from this IP are not from me (these are mostly polish sounding stuff, I'm sure that's not from me )

If this isn't an Aprils fool joke, I'll say goodbye to XSServer and find another VPS by tomorrow.
Too bad for them they'll loose A FREAKING BUNCH of customers by disallowing SB and other SEO tools...

Most VPS servers have a dedicated IP. What you don't know is the history of that IP

Right, although many VPSes reside on the same server, each of them has its own IP address. I'd doubt about clean un-used IP address though.

I canceled the my subscription last month and changed the VPS provider. It was good decision.
Xsserver were slow as hell and also unstable.

I've just opened a ticket to ask for clarification, we'll see what happen. But I guess I may have to move soon.

May I ask you whether you can recommend another good VPS provider ?

I'm getting ready to cancel my subscription. I'm downloading all my files and making note of the software I have installed there so I can install it to the new VPS.

Got the same mail from XSS and I think it is NOT joke. Well, I got 1 server in Inferno , its BP and fast - so I can recommend it to you.

BTW: I'm curious when XSS will be closed. I think 90% of their customers are xrumer users

PS: Don't forget to change passwords to services which you used @ XSS (botmaster, gmail, etc.)!

I am sorry but even though its on a shared server your VPS still gets assigned a Unique IP to your VPS and its you who is responsible for spamming with it .

People dont get it. for any long time usage of servers you are better of using a VPS server -> VPN -> Elite Proxies so yur host doesn get any complaints and you can use it for ever.

there ar douches here that spam with the main server IP and get their hosts blacklisted effecting all their c class blocks. which hurts not only the entire hosting company but also ruins the experience for other users who had taken enough stuff to protect the main server IP from being leaked.

I using bermanhosting and it is really good. It doesn't support black hat tools too, but if you are using proxies, everything is OK. I run there my Scrapebox 24/7 without problems.

Yep, I moved to them a month ago. They strictly don't allow BH tools without using proxies, which is a good criteria considering the issue with XS. So far no complaints.

P.S: I did notice their prices went up a bit.. must be the XSserver issue? Also, they don't accept direct paypal payments anymore but only via 2CO.

RAM: 2 GB DDR3

So for two more bucks per month I get 3x more CPU power and 4x more RAM.
I guess I won't be "considering" this for long before I actually buy

As I'm mainly a mac user, I always have a hard time choosing a windows OS; what do you recommend for a VPS : Windows XP Professional, Windows Server 2003, Windows Server 2008 or Windows 7 Ultimate ?

Yes, they get up with their prices. But it's still a quite cheap. With Windows 7 it's a pretty good VPS as well
