Am I stupid?

I have started at a very fast pace getting unique content put up
let's say 10 on average a day are submitted

The thing is my website is "MASS MARKET" meaning there is no niche
my original goal was to obtain as much traffic as possible from google
which without a doubt is working but within the long term

Is it really worth for me to continue going mass? or shall I leave
this here and slip into a niche market.

Your thoughts please

(by mass market I mean there is no focus I can do articles on cars then sports then computers and celebrities etc etc instead of just 1)

I have to say IMO doing the "mass market" thing as you described it is a bad idea. You really should have some kind of niche, even if it's a broad one.

thanks for your input what if I went mass as in all the categories such as health - cars - making money etc but tried to keep it more specific to the UK market would this be considered a niche

can you explain why it generates more income I'm going to assume its due to people coming for 1 interest and 1 interest only & such niches will make google adsense work better thus gain more income?

years ago when I started I also thought this was a good idea. I built a general website and started talking about everything, turned out to be a very very bad idea and the site was a complete failure.

It's better to pick a niche and grow to be authority site on this niche (If you want something big and something to brag about)

BTW if you want to make money, it's not all about the traffic. You can have a site with 100k unique per month and only making few hundred bucks, and a site with 5-10k unique a month making $20k

You have to consider your keywords, your content, and your product/ad placement

What was your plan for monetizing the traffic after you got it? You say that your plan to get a lot of traffic is "without a doubt working", What are you doing with that traffic? There are more ways to monetize than just adsense. Before you scrap this project I would look into other ways to monetize the existing traffic you already have instead of starting from scratch with a niche that you may or may not be able to drive traffic to.

If you really have no idea what I'm talking about, post in the JV section that you have a lot of traffic and need help monetizing. I'm sure you will get plenty of PMs with offers from others that can monetize, but can't get traffic.
