Posts Ranking Easier Than Pages?

Hello everyone. I've experienced an odd thing when I tried ranking a page and a post for the same keyword.

The page is targeting a keyword with strong on-page SEO, 600+ words, images, and a video.

The post talks about the new page with little on-page SEO and has less than 100 words.

The post is ranking on the 2nd page and continues to stay there. The page hit page 3 and now is no where to be found.

So the question is, do posts rank better than pages? Is this just a short ranking for the post and the page will bounce back over time?

I would think that depends on your setup, how you have categories and archives set up, your internal linking, permalinks, etc. Lot of factors. That being said, with my standard set up, posts do better in the serps than my pages.

Do you think if the post is appearing on every single page (which it is) of the site help it rank? The page does not appear on every page. The post also has a shorter URL with the keyword still in it. Would that affect it in any way?

Yes .. For me, posts are easier and effective than pages for ranking ...

I think post may contain some comment, when you get some fresh content, Chances for ranking is high. Also the internal linking also will a cause for ranking

Also easier to put Posts into AMR and other rss indexers, therefore ranking faster

The rankings of posts and pages are dependent on various factors such as permanent links, internal linkings and category and so on. However, the posts can get high rank easily because; they have some unique views and comments, so they may result in high internal linking. The internal links may increase the ranks of posts.
