So my 9-5 job involves working with lots of servers that my school uses for various tasks.

They also have a ton of old servers with some decent specs that are currently out of commission since they upgraded to new hardware. However they are still just sitting around and are currently not in use.

So I talked to my boss and he gave me the go ahead to use one or two boxes for personal projects.

So my question to everyone is, how can I use these old servers to set up some form of automated money making system that is NOT illegal. Since these servers aren't mine, and its quite obvious I'm using them I do not want to do anything illegal or even borderline questionable.

I've considered a couple of options but I'd like to hear what suggestions other people have. These are industry grade servers that are running around the clock and would essentially be free for me to use. Best of all I have physical access to them!

forex trading bots?(EA)

did anyone had any success with this?

Ah, yes. Using Bitcoin mining (http://www.weusecoins.com/mining-guide.php) is definitely an interesting concept. This however is sort of borderline, or in a political greyzone as many/most people use Bitcoin to either A: support WikiLeaks or to buy stuff "in the deep web" like drugs and unmarked weapons.

I think I'd setup some programs on it like Scrapebox and AMR if the internet connection and hardware specs aren't completely useless.

Other than that I guess you can rent it out as a Minecraft server to the kids at your school or something like that if it's a Middleschool?

Be creative :)

Bitcoin takes entirely too long to generate decent money. Especially with the current difficulty and rate of devaluation in regards to Real money/BTC I'm facing a similar situation, have a couple servers accessible at work. Looking for ideas...

First world problems.... lol. Could you use it for a hostgator resellers package?
