Just wanted to share this Floost.com review with you guys. I tried the site out and couldn't figure out if I was stupid or if the whole thing was crap. Then I found this review. I haven't laughed that much in months.

If you have nothing else to do at the moment, take 5 to read this. It is hilarious. Or at least I though so:

I just have to quote from the conclusion:

We would rather sit on a public toilet sharing excrement than spend time on Floost sharing images and thoughts. In fact if you are on Floost you wouldn't have any thoughts to share. The Floost FAQ says that Floost is "an identity service which lets people know who you are". And it does. It makes people know you are an idiot.

That's got to hurt if you're a Floost executive. Or investor.

I'll be honest and admit I am somewhat involved in that site, yes. It is just a hobby thing with no financial incentive. Hope you won't run me down for self promotion as that was not my intention. When I saw the review posted I thought it was funny - and this being the lounge I figured it could be enjoyed by others.

Well, hmm, I've never even heard of it. Any way to monetize it? LOL

I guess he didn't like the site, huh? It's an Indian start up but other than that I still can't figure out what exactly they do.

It is the weirdest site. Feels like someone was sitting thinking "hm, Facebook is popular. And Twitter is popular. And people like blogging. Let's make the Fitter Blog! No wait, that's too long. Let's call it Floost".

Of course, that is a bit like thinking "Ferraris are popular. And so is pizza. Let's make a pizza with a V12 engine. That should sell shitloads".

I guess you can make money on everything :D This site has got a long way to go, though. I bought the domain back in 2003 or so, when some poor guy developing blog technology forgot to renew it. Then I forgot about it until a week back when I noticed it still had some nice backlinks and me and a couple of young journalists I knew thought we just put some wild thoughts out there.

Well hopefully they will learn from the criticism and figure out what they want to do with the site.
