I'm underweight, my goal is to gain 15kg but it's to damn difficult, the first thing I'm gonna do is make some good amount of money, then buy food and gain weight.

Any tips to gain weight?

Good luck. But at the start focus more on what you are eating and take the work out as an extra bonus.

I lost 25kg within 4 months using the Dukan diet. Just Google it. This diet is bloody brilliant I am still doing it but not that strict anymore but I am feeling healthy and awesome and keep my weight stable.

I think this is a noble goal but if I may give my two cents:

What you are looking for is permanent change, for this you need to change the way you live and you are but I think you are going too fast.
Loosing weight too fast will not give your skin a chance to adopt. Result is not pretty.

Lose the soda's, fast food, snacks other than nuts and fruit.
Have a glass of water before dinner. Don't eat till you are done but stop before and wait 15 minutes. The feeling of being hungry or not comes from a hormone, give it some time to activate itself.
Chew your food! This helps in digesting but you will also eat less.
Have normal meals, you need your fibers. Liquid food is for plants only.
Avoid fat free labeled products, this is a hoax because the fat is replaced with sugar and other chemicals. There is nothing wrong with a bit of fat, really. Just don't over do it.
Don't run yourself to death, best exercise is slightly increasing your heartbeat. Running actually causes more damage than walking and it will have the same effect combined with the other things I mentioned. If you must run, do it barefoot.
Forget about how much you weigh, toss the scale. If you don't meet your .3 goal you will only get depressed and have a chance to become anorexic to compensate. You want to change the way you live, permanently. Scales have nothing to do with that.

Expect gradual changes with the above but know they are permanent. It might take you a year, but since you are not starving yourself your body will not overcompensate by storing every bit of calories it doesn't need.
People take diets for a short time and the body perceives this as bad times, it will take measures to "protect" you from the bad times... Result is that you gain more weight than you lost when stopping with the diet.

Also, don't reward yourself. It is perfectly okay to have some cake at a birthday or something like that but it is not okay to get the cake because you lost a pound. It's like rewarding yourself for getting up in the morning.

Just my two cents and please as you see fit. :)

I think it's great that you care though and really hope you accomplish your goal.
Good luck. :)

Well, you could try a few things like this:
Mix up some mayonnaise with whipped cream. Add some parsley, chive, citron juice and garlic if you like. Use this as a sauce to cover meat for instance. Try to eat it daily. It actually tastes great too.

Eat right before you go to bed.

One day a week: Stuff yourself!
Your body needs 2-3 days to adjust the metabolism. This is not effective when you try to accomplish the opposite as the body will not see fat as a problem. It protects itself from starvation though...

Eat in a rhythm, you will eat more. Try not to chew.
Have a go at those liquid breakfasts to accompany your meals.
Beer helps, but it takes time and you have to be careful not to turn alcoholic.

Can't think of more ways from the top of my head but I think you get the picture here.

Ow wait! Here is one: Muscles! If you don't want to gain body fat but do want to gain some weight you can work out to train muscles. You need a personal training schedule for that though. Made by a professional.

Hope this helps. :)

Yeah, get some Mass-tech, and instead of using skim, use whole milk and throw in a couple scoops of ice cream to make a milkshake. Drink one of those a day and watch the pounds pack on.

Remember this: scales lie, inches do not.

I was in the same position as you about 2 months ago. I was 6'4 and 240lbs. Didn't change my diet at all (I still eat McDonalds sometimes) and all I did was hit the weights and treadmill hard. Didn't skip a day. Now my scale say I was 236, sounds awful right? WRONG Yes I only dropped 4 lbs of body weight but what really happened was I burned fat and gained muscle. Since muscle mass weighs more I didn't lose much weight. My goal was to LOOK GOOD though, not see numbers decrease on a goal. And honestly I look a hell of a lot better then I did before. Arms are muscular, man boobs are gone and my thighs got smaller as well.

So you gotta decide what matters to you most? numbers or inches?

Definitely. Exercise should not be your top priority. Your top priority should be making lifestyle changes.

Your diet is the most crucial part of losing weight; if you do not plan and maintain your diet then you are counteracting your exercise regimen. There's no point in running 10 miles and stepping off to a carton of ice cream.

You want the right type of calories, you want the right types of fats, you want fiber, you want PROTEIN, etc., etc. You need to be smart about the way you eat more than anything. Eating healthy and leading an active lifestyle will be enough for most people.

Also, ease into your exercise. If you cannot run 10 miles today, that is perfectly acceptable. Run as much as you can, run through the burn as far as you can and be proud of what you accomplished... More than yesterday, right? If you run 10 feet, aspire for 20 tomorrow. Eventually, your body will accept these new activities and your strength and stamina will adjust to them. The idea is to ease into it so that you do not get burnt out early, disappointed that you cannot run 10 miles and go eat a bag of chips and cry about it.

But start off slowly, do what you can and then once you're at a level where you feel comfortable... Then start to push yourself. Read up a bit on proper exercise and how not to deplete your body in the process. Get a regimen that you are comfortable with...

Sunday - break
Monday - Run 5 miles
Tuesday - Lift weights
Wednesday - Run 5 miles
Thursday - Pushups
Friday - Squats
Saturday - Pullups

Of course this is not a real regimen, but you see what's going on... Arms, legs, arms, legs, arms, legs. The reason for this is that your body will adjust to certain exercises. Your body will start to get used to running, and it will develop around what it's used to. But you want to develop everything, not just your legs. So you have to, for lack of a better term, keep your body constantly surprised with your workout.

When you feel comfortable with your routine and you're doing it all with relative ease.. Push the pace. Go get yourself some enhancers..

Protein - This is extremely important for athletes. Exercise and strenuous activity damages your muscles. That's how you develop muscles, it's like a scar. If you cut yourself on the arm, it will scar up and that tissue will be tougher than the rest. If you cut it again, it will get tougher and tougher. Same with your muscles. When you exercise, you're tearing them, then they heal and are stronger. Protein helps them to heal, you're taking a lot out of your body and you need to put it back in. That's why diet is so important. If you find yourself hungry through the day, protein should be what you take to hold you til your next meal.

Nitric Oxide (NoXplode, etc.) - This stuff is intense. It increases blood flow to reduce fatigue (burning) and help you get more exercise in. Take it when you're comfortable with your regimen... You will work like you've never worked before.
Creatine - This is for healthy muscle development. It provides your muscles with energy and ensures proper growth.
VITAMINS!!!!

Its a good thing, you need mass in order to form into that ;)

1 km done, 9 km more for today.

Weight : Should still be 100.3 kg

Do a beachbody program like Insanity and P90x. They really work if you eat 100% clean and do the workouts. If you don't plan on eating ONE HUNDRED PERCENT clean.. forget about it and don't even try!

I know from experience, I wasn't as nearly as big as the current shape photo but I def wasn't as good as in the desired photo either.

You will feel much better (no pains, far less sickness, no medical bills ETC). You will be much more proactive in your work and whatever anything you do! Make plans or you will fail at reaching your goal ;)

Hi,

Good luck. 25kg in 3 months is ambitious. What I recommend to you is really to watch your portions. I lost weight simply by reducing the size of my dinner (quite obvious if you think about it). What I recommend is that you eat something healthy and filling 20 minutes before eating your real dinner. This way you'll already feel a bit full when eating and you'll be less likely to stuff yourself. It can be something like snacking carrots or a banana or stuff like that, which fills but is healthy.

I'm no health guru, I just know what helped me cut down the sizes of the portions. I stuffed myself at dinner normally and it has changed quite dramatically since then. I normally eat a slice or two of some whole grain bread.

Take it one step at a time learn to eat healthy food and don't over do it! I wish you good luck you should throw up a blog with your journal too people love to read that stuff!!

Good luck, I used to be a bit overweight 3 years ago. It takes a lot of patience, organization and dedication to do it properly.

Best place to start is maybe think about seeing a nutritionist, or look online for a diet plan you can follow. Its important to get that part right.

And then exercise :) Lots of exercise.

And always remember to consider your immune system.

Working out and other strenuous activities take a heavy toll on your body and especially on your immune system. This is why athletes are so prone to things like staph infection (well, that and they're hanging around gym equipment drenched with dirty sweat, CLEAN YOUR STUFF!!)

Make sure that you think about your medical health as well as physical. Expending your energy on things like running and lifting will leave you vulnerable to virus and infections. Take your vitamins, especially the ones that boost your immunity like C and echinacea.

Probiotics are another thing to consider, these are tiny little organisms that help protect you against harmful things you'll pick up in places like gyms, such as staph infection (AND YOU DO NOT WANT STAPH!)

GL and get healthy. It will improve many different areas of your life and make you a happier, more pleasant person overall as you will not be tense, high strung and your mind will be more clear.

Good decision, OP... I got in shape a few years ago and I've been addicted to pumping iron and running/biking ever since! It will be one of the best choices you ever make.

I'd suggest you also take up weight lifting. This will make sure that you only burn fat; you don't want to burn muscle (which WILL happen if your body doesn't think you need it.) Starting Strength or Stronglifts 5x5 are both very good programs for someone to start out with.

I currently go for a 3.5 mile run on Sunday, Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday, and I lift weights on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. I would not start out with that, though. You have to work up to it. Try lifting two or three times a week, and running another day of the week. Then after you get used to that, add another day of running. Or another day of weight lifting... LITTLE STEPS is the key here. Don't overdo it at first, or you'll kill your motivation and just end up frustrated.

Start going to Fitday or TheDailyPlate and planning out everything you eat (I like to do this the night before, so I don't even have to think about what meals to make the next day) And be honest when you calculate what foods you ate... I know it can be painful to admit that you broke down and ate something that doesn't fit into the diet plan, but you're only cheating YOURSELF out of the results that you want.

Shoot for 40% protein, 40% carbs, and 20% fat... Or 40% protein, 40% fat, and 20% carbs. Notice how it's ok to have fat? You just have to cut down carbs. Or you can have carbs, but you have to cut fat. You can't have a diet heavy in both carbs AND fats; it won't work. But one thing that is certain is that you need a lot of protein.

Get your protein from lean meats like poultry, steak, or shrimp (and I don't think I have to mention that even the healthiest of foods are no longer healthy if they are deep fried, right?) Exotic meats tend to be very low in fat, like buffalo, elk, and ostrich... If you can find these meats in your area, they will fit into your diet very well.

All your carbs should be whole grain (beware: a lot of "whole wheat" bread is just white bread colored brown... Look for whole GRAIN bread, and read the ingredients. Or better yet, make the bread yourself... It's not hard.) They make wholegrain pasta and noodles, you just have to look for them. Get brown rice instead of white rice. You can get a 20 pound bag for $20 at an Asian, Indian, or Middle Eastern market, or even order it online if you want. Avoid carbs from refined sugar (candy, soda, ice cream, etc. are a HUGE source of refined carbs... Eat them VERY rarely, or not at all!)

And fats? Yes, you do need SOME fats in your diet. It's not bad for you, it's just that most people eat WAY too much fat, and from the wrong sources. Generally, plant sources of fat are healthier than animal/dairy sources. If you eat meat and dairy, you are probably getting plenty of saturated fat (needed for brain function and muscle building) so don't worry about it. Use olive oil for frying and baking. Some foods that are sources of healthy fats are avocados, fish, nuts, olives, soymilk, and tofu.

Losing weight is just like setting up a successful website... You research, make a plan, put it into action. Then you monitor the progress very closely and make adjustments when necessary... It's entirely doable for anyone who puts out the effort... Good luck! :D
