[CASE STUDY] - Operation Lam Son

Quite a few meaning 10+ packages?

The reason to why I am asking is to know what actually makes the big difference in ranking investment wise. If ranking always proves to be possible on page 1 after 10 packages we have a figure of investment for all projects with the same keyword difficulty.

I guess I want to say that I would like to find a ballpark figure for ranking "well" Makes it easier to sell to clients.

Certainly more than 10. It's hard to give a specific number though, I mean..each package is different. I really wouldn't plan like that. You'll set yourself up for failure. But as a general rule, keywords with this level of difficulty will require high PR links, and I mean actual PR (so not just web 2.0 and stuff). I've spent in the $xxxx range on this site.

So you're targeting the main keyword with your homepage and it's a partial match domain?

Actually, neither of these are my main keyword. This is basically a related keyword (very closely related) to my main keyword. :)

In fairness maybe it isn't the best idea to change it now, or if you do change it now give it a week or so before starting the SEO to ensure we don't think the SEO service caused an increase in SERP that could have simply been attributed to putting the keyword in description.

Will be interesting to see how this pans out.

I like case studies, so long as the service provider isn't going to make it 'extra special' given that it is a public review.

I have looked at the service before and felt it was a bit pricey - but if results are good then I may jump on board.

Goodluck.

Now that you mention it, I agree. Changing it now could possibly skew the results. For the sake of this case study, I will not change it.

Got one question: Are the 2 keywords related? Like, "skin care" and "natural skin care"?

Well, they are in the same niche, but they are not related that closely like the example you gave. One of the keywords is 2 words, the other is 5 words :)

Subscribing. Thanks for a case study like that. Looking further to see any updates. :D

I think the keywords are quite low in search, I have quite successful with lower package and more searched (over 100k) and quite competitive too (first page authority, root domains with tons of backlinks).
Anyway, good luck. I'm watching this :D
here is my keyword anyway, quite long tail. the site is at #2. Chaos package managed to get it from #18 to #4

it's nearly 2 weeks now, how are your sites doing?

entri3 (the individual running the service) was ill so he was a bit late on starting. He began 5 days ago I believe. As of now, here are the rankings.

Keyword 1

Previously: #2
Currently: #2

Keyword 2

Previously: #8
Currently: #3 (+5)

Thank you for sticking with this case study. Please continue updating.

Another update for you guys :)

Keyword 1

Previously: #2
Currently: #2

Keyword 2

Previously: #8
Currently: #1 (+7)

So, Keyword 2 has hit number 1. Been there for about a day. Not sure if it's just a dance. Time will tell.

good to hear you got good results. Keep us updated

Its tough to determine exactly what's been going on with all of these SERP algorithm changes lately. Regardless though, impressive that you nailed the #1 spot in less than a week.

My site was hit with the GWT message about 5 days ago. My rankings have dropped since, so I can't really blame it on this service:

Keyword 1

Previously: #2
Currently: #2

Keyword 2

Previously: #8
Currently: #8

Damn, bad luck man.

But doesn't that mean this service caused the message? Were you doing any other backlinking?

Oh no, I'm almost certain it wasn't this service. I have a lot of other link building going on. I'm quite certain I received this message due to have links on some pretty crappy blog networks.

Following intensely. I have some big (potentially big) authority sites as well.
