Have Aweber account or similar autoresponder? Import the list to that. (test with a couple of your personal addresses first). Test that the first message is a call to resubscribe - "Sorry it's been a while, but here's why you should opt-in." List the benefits for them. Then you can send messages to the list without fear or worry.

No Aweber? You could do a customized/personalized send with MS-Word and Outlook Mail Merge.
