Ok, checking stats for a site today and saw an inner page now outranking my home page, inner page has no links, home page has a few hundred.

Inner page is page 1 @ 3
Home page is on page 2 @2
It was the opposite for months...

Checking further this inner page is the most visited page...so G00gle is looking at my visitor paths and ranking this page higher than the home page (based on no links only visitor info)

site has statcounter not G. analytics.

Now I have known for a while that its pages that rank but assumed the pages needed SOME links, seems that G. is looking more at my visitor behaviour than any external rank factors.

Inner page has high bounce coz thats where the aff. links are.;)

Think I know a way to use this to my advantage.
comments welcome :D

BTW this is a very thin affiliate site and really post panda should be page 9, exact search for main KW= 6600.

This could also happen if the main page had a penalty applied to it.

how can google track visitor behaviour specially when you are using statcounter??

I don't believe you have a G penalty. If you had you would've never rank that high. It just found more relevancy in that page that's all. And if you haveyou're aff link there go pop some bottles :D. Partay time! :cat3:

Maybe the inner page is better optimized than the home page?

this is nothing new.. google can track vistor behavior through chrome or adsense. They can use chrome data and extrapolate the stats. traffic and visitor behavior is very important for ranking.

chrome, adsense, google toolbar, android devices
