My Results so far - thx bhw

So I run a legit LLC website design company and all my clients were local and word of mouth. So i decided to get my website ranking high in the serps. Thanks to a lot of things and tools i got here I started about 7 days ago

I built a wordpress blog in a dir on my main site with articles and news on website design, seo, business news, tech news, goddady coupons (i get cj commission for leads)

It's been almost 7 days and I received 1 lead for website design and made $30 in adsense.
I started getting a little bit of search engine traffic and it's getting better. Google indexes my blog as soon as I post. MSN lists my site as #2 for my main keyword (#1 is not even webdesign). Trying to get to top 20 on google for my main keyword but i guess that will take longer then msn.
I have 4,500 yahoo backlinks (split between www. and no www.) I just did 301 redirect yesterday so hopefully the backlink count will merge. PR 1 so far on google but that's from the old days. Waiting for the update and hopefully my PR will jump.

So here's what I did:
1 article to ezine
about 30 digg posts
few yahoo answers
senuke for about 100 social bookmarks
facebook with groups and stuff and my link all over
twitter
a couple of do-follow forums and blogs
google and yahoo groups
google maps business listing
still waiting for yellow pages free listing
2 dmoz submission but nothing yet - anyone know any categories frequently updated?
blogger blog with few posts and link to my site and blog

My wordpress plugins:
adsense theme
statpress
google xml sitemap (added static pages from my root) great plugin
platinum seo
simple tags
uaw (not use it but sometimes rewrite and post)
related posts
wp-o-matic (grab news and rewrite and post manually)
videotube


It seems that the thing that works the best is tech and business news. As soon as i post, google indexes and i get a visitor or two.. Not much but it's only been a week so far.

Does anyone have any other suggestions for backlinks for a legit business? would love to get my hands on xrumer but i cant afford it

Also how long does it usually take after on page seo changes for google to recognize and rank me by the new keyword?
MSN picked it right up after a day or two and google and yahoo just suck.
btw my .com age is over 3 years

I'd suggest doing some Forum Posting as well on some forum related to your niche. Put your link in your signature. Everything else seems fine. I'd just rinse and repeat. Good Job!

Yeah. Very comprehensive. I will probably do something very similar when I'm off this christmas season. Also try putting your site on freelance forums/sites with your url. That may help increase customers.

btw since that day i have been getting a steady average of over 100 uniques a day and 400 pageviews. Yeasterday was 242 uniques.
Not much yet, but it's getting better every day. So far about $70 with adsense

Cool, astounding CTR. I've got like $6 so far.

It doesn't really matter. Unless your site matches the exact category, don't bother submitting it to other ones.

my CTR is pretty bad.. Only a few clicks a day, but they are usually $.80-$3 a click

That's cool. Building a good totally WH site is tough. Hopefully, you're split testing your ads to see if you can get that CTR up some. That's pretty good earnings per click, so if you can keep getting traffic and get the clicks up you could make some real bank.

Could you please advise how much traffic you were getting prior to doing the above work?

Also it would be interesting to know if you have like a set day plan of what SEO tasks you would complete?

I had the html site for my business that had no SEO or advertising (just occasional visitors referred by my customers). Around the 6th of this month, I did the SEO and the Blog. I saw results immediately.

Daily tasks include posting something new and catchy, 4-6 times a day, all spread out throughout the day.
Once i post something, i web 2.0 the link and headline and get google and yahoo to index it within minutes.
