What's the scam?

So, i've been looking at getting myself a new car, I went on autotrader and noticed a seller garage in newcastle has a few cars that are on for about 1/3rd of what they're worth, I e-mailed him to inquire mostly about why they are so cheap, I got an e-mail back from a different e-mail address basically saying that they used to own a nice house in the UK but now they live in spain and if i want to do business with them they will come from spain to my hometown and meet me.


What's the scam?

most likely they are you to deposit money to Escrow then thats it - that reply must be very convincing rite?

Send him $1k for the airfare for them to get back to UK from Spain.

It's 1/100th of the amount you're saving so you win!

Unless of course if it's just an elaborated scam all along. (it is)

Write the VIN numbers down, and take them to the local cop shop, and have them run the numbers

Actually you know what; I think the owner/seller hasn't paid taxes for the cars yet. Probably bought them cheap from spain and makes profit shipping them to UK.
