Point is to create G+ acc and then connect it with YT. Your G+ name will be your channel name.

This is not a glitch and they won't fix it. It's also the default action now when you create a new youtube account. In fact, if you want the old style usernames, you have to specifically select an option to do use old usernames.

You are right. I explained this the other day in another thread and someone claimed it had been like this for a while which was pure BS.

This is a new move to really make Google profiles integrate fully into Youtube, I guess to push the whole Google social thing. Seems they have not given up and are serious about it.

You can still get to your channel. Make a comment, then click your name. It gives you a cryptic channel URL such as http://www.youtube.com/channel/UCyX_IuiyhgQafghqMOYWowQ (an example)
