Hi,
My apology if this topic already posted on BHW .
Need to know about .info domains as i found some great EMDs in .info
Is it hard to rank .info domains then others ?

Thanks

I didn't find any different when I was ranking .info site.

Theoretically it should not affect your traffic but the domain names should be based on whatever your content is. E.g. (.tv for shows and .biz for business) However, spammers use .info and google not seem to like it. It will just make a little more to difficult for google to figure out what is spam or not. But with quality content it can be done.

It definitely carries slightly less weight than a .com, .net, or .org. There is always a little more value given to those extensions, especially in direct competition.

im testing it. shoot me a pm and i will get back to you within 2-3 weeks

I've read allot of threads about this, and it seems that the majority don't think it matters. Good quality seo can rank any domain extension

You will hear 80% of them saying .info doesn't affect SEO but it does.

EMD.info < EMDxx.com = EMDxx.net = EMDxx.ORG

I use a .info and it works just as easy as a .com. Google doesn't care about the extension, just the domain. I've found plenty of .infos ranking #1 above .coms with similar strategies and like I said I use them to. If it does make a difference it's too minor for me to notice.

I've had success with both, with both being a little bit more success, but more importantly I feel infos are not as more brand-able.

Make a experiment. Take few competitive and few Less competitive Keywords.Google them and check the domains which are ranking within top 10 (Page 1 for those perticular Keywords) as well as their TLDs.You will hardly find any .info domain ranking in page one.

Hence .info matters in SEO

Well, First I will prefer .com rather than .info but it's hard to get .com EMD. Still you can get top rank with .info with HQ content and SEO. I don't think it's too hard to get rank with .info domain.

build .info site with quality content and quality link is the best for optimizing .info.

don't worry.

If you're using godaddy you can get great .com .net and .org EMD

I've ranked many sites for very easy to medium competitive keywords and I've found my .com to rank faster than my .info in the same niche pursuing the same keyword. Although the backlinking was a bit different, the number of backlinks was slightly higher for .info to be able to climb the ranks. Since info domains are cheap and there's a ton of them, it looks as if the search enigines (google in my experience) tends to rank/index .com's faster.

My niche was in airplane simulation FYI

Good luck!

i havent tested personally but have read in multiple places that .info are harder to rank

thanks to all I got it LoL.. .info sucks most EMDs available in .info because people know its hard to rank thats why they leave them...

You will hear 80% of them saying .info doesn't affect SEO but it does.

EMD.info < EMDxx.com = EMDxx.net = EMDxx.ORG

Actually, EMD.com>emd.net=emd.org>emd.info
.com's get more preference over .net and .orgs even with an EMD.

Instead of trying to get an EMD. Just og on expireddomains and search by keyword. You should be able to find something more valuable that way.

However, spammers use .info and google not seem to like it.

Spammers also use .com and Google also doesn't seem to like that either.

I've never had a problem with .info's - It depends on your content, optimisation and off site work, the only time the domain extension comes in to play is if it's country specific like .co.uk etc.
