Ditto. I bet the owner of that site will thank Eppie for his blog post. Probably just cost him $XXX,XXX assuming those rankings were relatively stable.
What I don't get is why the site owner didn't spend more time on the actual site. It was obviously profitable enough, why not make it look like a legitimate site and have more chance of passing a manual review, they only had one nav link..
They must have had the budget to pay a pretty decent designer to build something really awesome.

The truth is that the site maker knew the risks.... and took them.
but I am sure he was expecting the deindexing.... and probably was working on several other sites at the same time....
the loss of the site..... was just the cost of doing business for him.

yeah that was a horrible thing for the owner of the site. Honestly i would filed some sort of suit against that editor...isnt that like the #2 or #1 highest paying search term?
Probably made more than enough while he was up there.
But man, would I be pissed off lol.
Actually just read it and it said it was slapped before the article was published.
I'm not saying he could really compete long term with the big brands, but he could have made an effort. The site instantly appears to have to no real content, generic graphics, a lack of a contact page, privacy policy etc.
All I'm saying he could have perhaps extended his time at that position for a month or two, maybe more.
However it does seem to be a common theme in IM, that all emphasis is placed on immediate profit through user interaction and little on aesthetic. You can instantly tell if a site is built for making money, and as a google manual rater I can tell you that it will affect you at some point.

Yeah I would call/email him just to say thanks for fucking up the whole freakin' thing.
I'm sure SEOMoz guys don't have anything to do with that Keyword - they were just "uncomfortable" seeing a BH site ranking above a big brand...

Truly inspiring. This guy would have enough money in 3 months to retire and most probably this wouldn't be the only site he would have.
