Rankerizer's Affiliation with Google?

I downloaded Rankerizer the other day to check it out. I didn't import any data into the software, just opened it, checked out the interface and features and then got on with my life.

Soon after I noticed that almost every Google search I ran was asking me for a captcha. Odd.

I updated my VPS to a dedicated server this week and thought I'd try Rankerizer on there. I had initially put Chrome on my VPS then uninstalled it since I'll be using some black hat tools. I did not delete the program files though, just uninstalled and deleted the desktop icon.

So, just now I went to download Rankerizer through Opera and here's what happened when I clicked download:

A chrome browser opened up
Chome's icon was on my desktop

Then I deleted the program files and tried to download rankerizer. I cannot download it without Chrome. When I click download it just refreshes the Rankerizer homepage. What is rankerizer's association with Google? Anyone know?

Hmm... interesting. I just wanted to ask you a question: do you think this Rankerizer is more good than Rank Tracker from SEO Spyglass? I didn't tried it so that's why I'm asking because Rank Tracker sometimes gives some misleading position but after other check it's ok. What's your experience with Rankerizer?

No experience except the one I wrote about in the OP which makes me think it might be some sort of Google spyware for IMers.

I got it with xsserver because they're supposed to be xrumer friendly. So far I'm loving it.

UPDATE: I was able to install it via IE but I remain suspicious. It's Brad Callen's software so it seemed weird that there might be something wrong with it.

I thought maybe the software download has some kind of dependency with Gxxgle Chrome, so I tested:

1. If you have a processes in Task Manager called GoogleUpdate.exe (or Chrome.exe), kill them.
2. Uninstall Chrome.
3. Delete the install folder (and sub-folders) in: C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\Local Settings\Application Data (for Win XP)
4. Download Rankerizer using MS Internet Explorer.
I'm not installing it!

Don't know about affiliation with Gxxgle, but I tend to keep a great distance from any software affiliated with Brad Cxllen.

The other thing you could do (if you are going to run it) is to make sure you have a good firewall installed, and check all incoming/outgoing connections.

Is this because his work is shoddy and over priced? I'm not too familiar with him but that's what a few Google searches told me. But I found no one who thought he might be a shill for Google.
