Some of the people who have messaged me and had problems was because of the fact that they built links (not a scrapebox blast) to the site with only 1 anchor.

In the new panda update, that is a penalty.

You have to have 3-5 anchors targeting your main site.

So ive implemented this (almost) to the letter, and my results haven't been great so far.

First of all let me point out, i know others have had success with this method of bobby's for a fact, and im very confident that it works. This ISNT a post bashing the method, and dont let it put you off trying it - im just trying to figure out whats happened and to see if anyone has seen similar results.

The only deviations from the letter of this method were:

- Prior to seeing this method to get the site indexed i created about 5 bookmarks, and 15 well spun readable 2.0s. Then dripped them with lindexed. This was over 2 weeks before the 301 was picked up and rankings had stabilized at an initial #15.

- My money site has several unique 600 word articles - the homepage article was created using the method bobby suggested.

What i did:

So i created the 2 sites just as the method stated. (See exception above)

i waited until the aged site's article was indexed, then 301'd and waited until google had found the 301 before i purchased the 1000 links. To get the 301 site indexed i blasted it with sb.

I found that around the same time that the 301 got indexed my site had a huge drop in the serps - closer inspection found that my homepage is not ranking for my main KW anymore and some random inner page is the first found (was a solid #15 before ,as its a very easy KW, now its ~#450.

Im far from an expert but im under the impression this is a penalty - i found no message in webmaster tools. Im on day 2 of 3 of the links being rolled out and several have been indexed with still no change.

Has anyone found this happening while using this method? Or does anyone have any suggestions at all on how i can attempt to resolve this?

AGAIN id like to point out that i have full faith in this method, and will be trying it again on another domain, that is totally fresh.

My thanks to bobbylove for this share, and as always, treat this as a learning curve. Id just like to either try to resolve this, or at least learn something out of this.

For the links i purchased i used 5 keywords (roughly 50% my emd, 20% lsi1, 20% lsi2, 5% "here" and 5% "naked URL"). The keywords were also varied for the initial link building - they were very low in number, so if this is the issue hopefully the 1000 links may balance it out.

ill do a bit of research and see what i can find about my link diversity. If i remember correctly the latest panda update was on the 27th? Does it take a while for google to update all the serps, as the drop happened on the 8th of march.

I bought an aged domain that has www. in front. When it was transferred to my account i set up the domain without www. Will this be a problem for passing the domain age to the new domain after the 301 redirect?

I set up a wordpress site and blasted the aged domain a 24 hours ago but it is still not indexed.

What? I thought when you bought a domain you didn't have to worry about whether there was a www in front of it or not. I know that you should point all your backlinks to one or the other: www . domain . com or domain . com

That's why I put some code in my root folder that recognizes all visitors to www . domain . com and redirects them to domain.com so I get all the juice.

But it sounds like there's something I don't understand if you say you must take care in how you up your domain with the registrar.

Hey, I searched the whole thread and couldn't find Bobby talking about using allintitle for competition analysis. Can someone tell me where that post is? Or maybe give me a quick reminder of what to do there?

If i do a site: check i see that google has indexed the 1000 word article on the aged domain but it still shows in the index the pages from the previous content. Why google keeps in its index the old content when the domain has a new content now?

The last panda update was March 5, 2012 with the anchor variation penalty, which a partner and I realized.

99% of marketers do not know how to properly assess competitors.

You search the REAL competition by using the following formula:

allintitle:keyword

Ideally, the less the number, the better and easier to rank.

For me, 500k+ allintitle is doable, but for most marketers you want to target less than 50k+ allintitle.

That usually takes a bit longer to update, but you should be able to do the 301 redirect now.

Almost all my sites have already been sold, so it is not up to me if the new owners do not properly follow good SEO practices.

Got it, Would you pursue a keyword that has around 60 million competitors but the site ranked #1 only has a little over 1000 referring domains? I'm not trying to rank the site in a week, if I can get a more difficult keyword within a month then I'll be happy.

I have a question though, and this is kinda very important to me.

I've been in SEO since 2000, and I used to earn a bit of money. However, I only focused on one website, and it has recently been crushed by Google (I'm still ranking for keywords on Bing though). I didn't make huge money, more like 300-400 euros per month.

However, I used to spend most of it on my family, since we are in a really bad financial situation. Don't wanna bore you with that.

I only have $100 spared and this will probably be my last resort (I'm a law student and can't work right now), so I really wanna know if this really works. Has anyone else tried this and gotten firm results?

This is kind of a life/death situation for me, and I can't afford to waste all my money on a method that doesn't work. Thank you for your honest answers.

Is it 60 million allintitle?

Do you have an EMD?

Sorry, yes 60M allintitle and I'm going to have an EMD or have an EMD with an extra letter in the domain.

That is very competitive; avoid that keyword.

Not really.

You have to test things out for yourself.

Some sites rank; some don't.

Nothing is 100%.
