Constructive Advice!

I got exposed to internet marketing without having any skills that can be beneficial to it.Be it web design,programming,writing skills,I just don't have that knowledge.However,I have been reading up frequently on information to build up the knowledge and improving my language.

I am currently focusing on blogging and I have to say that I am not good in writing.Should I outsource to ghost writers or I should continue writing.I want to provide quality content but the only problem lies in my sentence phrasing and structuring. I have the impression that writers tend to make the sentences complicated since they have the ability to do so and readers might get confused.

Can anyone give me some advice?

I can't comment on outsourcing as I very rarely do that, unless it's part of an initial service.

Yes, you're right, don't make sentences complicated. To reach the widest audience, the text needs to be easily readable. Look up flesch reading ease, which scores material depending on how easy it is to read (higher is better). There are tools available (including built into MS Word, if you have it) to rate text. Don't focus too much on getting a good flesch score, though, but it can help.

If English is not your first language, write short sentences instead of long ones. Just take a long sentence you've written and break it up into 2-3 chunks that make sense.

If you're using a thesaurus to find an alternative word (or found a new word using an X-Language to English dictionary) put it in Google to see if it's commonly used. Simple words are always better as you will reach the widest audience. It's always easier to write about what interests you. If the topic you're blogging about is boring you then look for another niche (or outsource).

Try to use not only text to communicate, but relevant videos, images, etc. If you want to emphasise something, you can use underline, italics or bold. Avoid all capital letters, though, as it's usually considered "shouting" in online text. (A negative sort of emphasis.)

Just keep writing. The practise will do you good. Get a friend to proof read it. Their English doesn't need to be; if they understand it then you have achieved your aim.

I'm sure many other people will have good advice. Oh, it might be worth taking a look at this.

Your writing style sounds fine to me to be honest. If you are not native you are good enough that people should think you are. The only thing off really was your punctuation, but then again this is a forum post and not something you were really trying at What kind of issues do you think you are having in particular?

I have seen many blogs and are always impressed with their writing.The way they write are organized and well-oriented. Another issue was the current niche that i am in. I have seek advice from several experts not to start in the MMO niche if i did not make much money online. My niche was to teach beginners how to get their online business get started step by step and from there,they can build a strong base of foundation.

Another niche that I am passionate in is fitness.I am currently working towards my goal of having a lean and ripped body.I have spent some time learning and reading.However, I am not really ready to start in this niche yet as my body have not reached the level that people will start to adore since there are so many fitness internet marketers around.

No but seriously, your writing is definitely good enough to create your own site content.

My advice would be to read as much as you can and try to stick to one thing and follow through with it before jumping to the next.

Lots of newbs jump around from idea to idea (I did), when they would be much better off trying to perfect one method and making some dough at it then jumping around and sucking at everything.

Split it into sections (use headers) and also use bullet points. Bullet points can help make a long piece of text succinct. (I should really have used those in my other post LOL.) Don't try to get a high word count just for the sake of it. (There are plenty of popular news sites and blogs with short entries).

As some others mentioned (and I should have in my original post), your English is fine (particularly if you're not a native speaker). Especially for just forum posts.

Are you serious? 80% of the fitness and weight loss sites are run by people who are excessively obese. You don't need to play like a messi to be a soccer critic.

As was said above, you don't have to necessarily BE the poster boy for whatever you are writing about. I have sites that put money in my pockets that honestly I do not know much at all about the niche.

Bullet points and headers before you start writing will also naturally put your posts into a well thought out format.

As far as what you need to work on with your writing, it is the tenses. By that I mean the past/present/future tenses of words. I only say this for constructive criticism. I am currently learning Russian so believe me I know how hard the finer points of a language is, especially the tenses. What you might look into is writing your own content, and then getting someone to proof-read it. A native English speaker will be able to pick out and correct your small errors quickly and correct them without much time (or money) involved since your writing is easy to understand anyway.

Just pick something and go with it. The biggest hurdle is to actually find a niche you can compete in and drive traffic to.

Oh no, not Russian!!! (j/k) I'm also trying to learn the language, after visiting four times last year... a wonderful place to visit.

If fitness interests you, go for it. You're learning from your journey, so it's easier to write about. It can also be a good way to get others to interact and discuss their experiences, tips, etc. Comments aren't just for spam. ;-) (j/k)

Writers aren't born, they simply work at it. The best advice that you can take from previous replies is to just do it. It is a tremendous help at first to find topics that interest you. It seems, just from what you have written in your topic post, that your thoughts are fluid. Keep it simple and write shorter sentences and paragraphs. Eventually, you will notice your writing improve and you may notice that you develop a writing style of your own.

A good place to start is to join a web 2.0 site (such as Squidoo or Hubpages) where you can read plenty of articles on many niche topics. Then, you can start writing your own articles (lenses or hubs) on topics that interest you and that you are (or aren't) knowledgeable about. The advantage to writing on one of these sites is that you can easily create backlinks to your current and future marketing projects. In time you will gain an audience on these sites and they will link to your content.

Practice makes perfect. It can be time consuming, but so is reviewing content that was spun or proofing articles that were written for you before you can submit them or publish them to the web. Quality, non-duplicate content will always be key and being able to write it or even recognize it will come in time with that practice.

If your concern is primarily grammar, use of tense, etc., it would be worthwhile to search for word processing or article writing tools that will aid in this. Many quality tools are available for free on the web.

Dragon naturally speaking, can be an asset or a pain in the ass. But you'll be able to write the way you speak, which may or may not be a good thing.

One of the gems that you get with it, is the text to speech option, which can be very useful for quick proofreading. Where the computer reads back to you, what you have written.

The reading age you want to target is the 8 year old level. Look at any major newspaper. For example the Washington Post is at an 8 year old reading level. One of the benefits is that it is quick and easy to read. Only problem for the writer is that they have to do the thinking for the reader - before hand. To ensure that they don?t, when they read what has been written.

A good way to test what you have written is at an 8 year old level, is to find an 8 year old or someone who is older - but with an 8 year old reading level. If they stumble or have problems understanding what you have written, then you will know what to fix.
