When will I get promoted (from newbie status)

I wonder what can make me get promoted from newbie.
I've been here more than 1 month and have more than 50 posts.

Anybody help?

From what I have noticed there is no one size fits all answer. It is different for everybody as there seems to be more then just one condition.

From what I have seen, this is not your regular forum, that is a good thing actually. The more I learn about the setup the more I like it.

This may not seem like the answer you where looking for but I think its the best one you will get.

Just enjoy your time here and all will work out in the end.

Yup, my initial thought, too. If they wrote Old Fart next to my name wouldn't change anything ... and then it happened!

I tried to post a URL to an image file in a reply in another thread just now and appparently, after a coupla years here, I haven't been here long enough to get that 'priviledge'.
Well, c'est la vie .... still doesn't change anything I guess, but a funny rule...

also 8.5 posts a year is hardly contributing

posting links is not a given as the forum would be spammed to death, people that have been here a while & contributed get the privileges

Considering this is a BH forum, giving people the ability to post links and pictures without serious barriers to entry is just an open try to spam, like a celebrity standing in a mall is an open entry for the paparazi.

I have no idea when I upgraded. I assumed it was to do with my post count? I never paid attention to it.
