My partner and I are planning to build 50 niche sites per month for the next 4 months. It's going to be quite the challenge but we are ready for it. This is the exact current strategy for the first 50 sites. If there is enough interest we will be updating and posting our results. Also if you want other info on our project you can check our blog, WSOtesters(dot)com.

1. KEYWORD RESEARCH

After initially trying out Market Samurai, we found that it was just too slow for our liking. So we are primarily testing Long Tail Pro. The filters for our keyword are as follows:

At least 1200 Exact Match Searches in Google Keyword Tool
At least $1.00 CPC
Exact Match Domain used if available, if not then we'll add a Prefix or Suffix (such as "pro" or "hq") to the keyword when buying a domain
Low Competition on the Google Top Ten :
- Less than half are optimized for keyword in the title
- Low PR on at least 2 of the top ten sites
- Low amount of SEMoz/Juice links

Notice that we do NOT include "phrase match" competition as a limiting factor in choosing a keyword. Case studies from multiple marketers show that "phrase match" competition is irrelevant. Simply put: If the competition on the first page of Google is weak, then we will go for it.

Even though we are NOT including "Phrase Match" competition as a limiting factor, we will be keeping track of this data. Our end results will include the statistics as to whether lower "phrase match" competition ranked higher.

2. ON PAGE SEO

We are building all sites on WordPress. The following themes will be tested: Prosense, Bluesense, CTR, Niche Site Theme. Each site will have at least 5 pages of unique content of 500+ words. We are testing keyword densities from 1-3%. We are using several plugins to assist us such as SEOPressor, All In One SEO, Cbnet Ping Optimizer, and Google Xml Sitemaps.

3. BACKLINKING

For this months backlinking strategy, we will first use SocialADR to social bookmark 20 our sites. Another 20 sites will receive social bookmarks from either Bookmarking Demon or Only Wire (we are still debating on this). 10 sites will NOT receive any social bookmarking.

All sites this month will be receiving backlinks from Build My Rank (BMR). From our research these guys may be the strongest blog network out there. Some people claim to rank solely on BMR. Later on we will test other backlinks, but for now Build My Rank has our full attention.

AND THAT'S IT!

That?s the general overview of what we will be doing for this project this month. Yes it's aggressive, yes it's risky... but we're tired of seeing small case studies where the results could be due to flukes.

Let us know what you think? Any input would be highly appreciated. If anyone has any suggestions we're also open to testing them out.

I checked out your blog! Sounds good, good luck! I'm sure you'll be making some good money!

How do you intend to provide content for these 50 niche sites per month? Sounds like an unrealistic goal.

50 Sites per month, each with 5 articles each.

50 x 5 = 250 articles
250 articles / 30 days (give or take a day) = 8.3 articles per day

There are 2 of them .. 4 each! Doesn't sound that hard to me! I can churn out 15+ per day if I really tried!

Be careful with BMR, many people have seen their rankings drop using their services.

We're already outsourcing all content creation from odesk. We currently have 3 SEO article writers, 2 BMR writers, and a VA. We'll probably get a few more soon.

15 per day is impressive, i usually get to the 5 mark then burn out and lose focus lol

Good luck with your case study! even if your sites make $0.50 a day each then you will be making $3k a month, not too bad for a case study lol

Looks solid. I'll b following. Would be nice if you tested some other backlinking strategies too. GL

Thanks. Most case studies we see only test a couple sites at a time - which leaves the possibility of a "fluke". We decided to break this and test many sites at once. 50 sites should give us more significant findings - don't you think  ?

On what terms do they write articles for your 50 sites? Percentage revenue share or fixed pay?

How many backlinks per site are you planning to get each month?

We're paying $2.50 - $3.00 per article to our writers. It took a little bit of time to filter out good writers, but it definitely paid off.

We're planning to drip feed around 40 BMR posts per site this month.

so, not sure if you have heard about BMR, but they are not doing great, whats next?! :)

I would love to see the sites when you are done creating them. You could also use my creative writing prowess;)

I received a question in my pm and since I can't send pms yet i'll let everyone know here :)

The question was basically how I go about finding workers.

Basically I just have to keep posting job offers on odesk. I post the same offer a couple of times and since I live in the US, I do it around night time (I want the posts to be up on odesks front page during the work hours of asian countries). Personally, i've just had better results with this. Then I mention that they won't be considered if they don't attach an article in their application. After that, I read each article to see if they meet my standards. Once I'm done with that, I do skype interviews with them. Hope this helps out a bit. I'll likely post a better and more in depth version in my blog soon - you can find my blog by searching my name in Google. Anyway, I hope that helps a bit :)

I think BMR is still doing better than 90% of the guys out there. For next month, we may be organizing some backlinks with UAW as well and trying out some SEnuke blasts. All of this is up in the air though since we're focusing hard on this current month.

Sounds like a lot of content to write...

...ahem... I could take care of that ;)

We already have a few content writers at the moment. But we could always use more especially if the content is good and the rate is right.

You might risk your Adsense account with 50 sites per month, but good luck.

Yeah 50 sites a month is risky for Google, no other ways of monetizing? Let's say Adsense alternatives? don't know in what niche you're in with the sites, but maby CPA or Amazon or mailinglist for ClickBank? Idk or combine them together to get the maximum out of your sites. Especially when Adsense doesn't like that you're building 50 sites a month.
