Now don't be stupid enough to fall for the scam. I told him to fuk off. He's spamming whois records (probably using SB whois scraper) and tossing out bait looking for fish.

I actually for the first time clicked the link to see all the fish listing for $9000. They should have a dumbass tag next to all those domains. LMAO, I can't believe people actually listed their domains over there. Sucker born every minute I guess.

LOL, yep, that is EXACTLY it! Same damn email. I thought it was a bit fishy which is why I came here to see if anyone had experience.

At the same time, learned a bit too from meathead and dirtbag on the subject of domain sales. AND now this scammer is in the open, at least here at BHW.

I wouldn't exactly call that a scam quite yet. I mean, what's the worst case scenario, nobody buys your domain? What's the best case scenario? Some jackass actually comes along and decides to buy your domains for $9000? Doesn't sound too bad to me. Looks to me like he's just using the exact techniques taught on this very forum to promote activity on his site.

That being said I'm not sure how they handle the sale of a domain. I imagine they could broker a sale, then take the buyer's money and run. That seems a little unlikely though. If I were to do that, I'd just list a bunch of good sounding bogus domains for retardedly low prices, then grab and run from dumbshits who don't see it as too good to be true.

I think it's just another blackhatter attempting to grow his site. No skin off anyone's back. It's relatively benign in terms of threat level to you. There's way sneakier shit a guy can be pushing through whois spam that are genuine scams. ones that have been going on for years now. Like the bullshit appraisals and so forth..

Tru Dat! Can't knock a guy for trying different techniques to promote their biz, as long as they aren't stealing from people. That whois thing is a whole new world to me lol. Never even thought of anything along that route. Learn something new...

Not a scam? The site requires personal information to list a domain. The site is nothing but a phishing site. Many are providing their credit card information and PayPal information to list and purchase upgrades for their listings. You can imagine what will happen to all that information.

Sorry but I have to disagree. Sending spam emails promising a $9000 sale of a domain to domain holders just to obtain personal information including credit card and paypal is a scam. In the USA it's also totally illegal.

I suspect many people will use the same passwords they did when they registered their domains so most likely many of these domains will be hijacked.

Advertising and scamming are two different things.
