Getting out of seo & into e*ay!!!

Due to recent developments, most if not all my sites have been smashed in the serps. This has basically wiped out my income completely. Unfortunately, I have not diversified enough to ride out the current algo changes & I fear that the majority of my sites will not make it back to page 1.

I have been considering getting into e*ay and setting up a seperate ecommerce site and start building a list.

Do you guys think e*ay is worth getting into these days or should I concentrate on y0utube - CPA or similar business models?

I'm only willing to set aside a set-up budget of approx $5,000 at this stage.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

What happened to bring down your entire network? Were all your sites under the same IP or have a footprint and when one went down they all did? Or do you think it was blackhat links that brought you down?

In all honesty, I wouldn't scrape your SEO business. SEO is far more stable than CPA. I could probably recover your sites fairly quickly and get them back to page 1. Let me know and we can workout a price.

My sites are on different hosting and are completely unrelated. Both were at the top of page one for medium to difficult keywords. I have been thinking about e*ay for a while and think that e*ay over cpa might be the way to diversify my income stream.

Selling on eBay feels much more concrete to me than seo. You just need to know how to work the system

I think it completely depends on what you plan on selling on ebay.

What you were doing (seo) and ebay are completely different businesses. It doesn't mean you can't make the switch but know you are getting into more of a "retail" business likely involving physical goods. Some people love that, others do not.

You can make money on ebay, no question, but I personally would view it like Google - "don't rely on it completely, and expect that they will change the rules on you at some point". Use it as a vehicle to build your business, but don't base your entire business on it, leverage it.

Thinking of buying Hammertap or Terapeak and research Items & Volume. Much like you would when you are doing your niche keyword research.
If I can find a product that I can source locally (Australia - Or Overseas ) for cheap and can store at home I'll probably give it a go. The Aussie Dollar is smashing the Greenback at the moment!

Im not worried about the retail side of things so much as my current seo models are a combination of real business and online. Think lead generation.
