SEO different pages on your site?

Hi there guys, i'm a bit confused... i was just wondering if someone could please help me...

So lets say i don't want to SEO my homepage, but one of the articles on my site. So a SPECIFIC PAGE.

In order to get that page ranked high on google, when submitting backlinks to directories, article sites, blog comments, etc... do i submit the link with the article, or just a link to my homepage?

tl;dr: When submitting backlinks, do i put the specific page i want to SEO, or just a link to my homepage?

If you're trying to get an internal page (instead of your home page) to rank for a specific keyword, you should build links to that specific internal page.

You target the exact page, use SEO Pressor for onpage seo.

I think you have to do seo both for homepage as well as internal pages, because some sites just accept homepage.

You should also add anchors and titles to your inner links which are aiming at your inner page with the keywords you want. It really helps google to know what you content is about on the inner page.

You could use most of links on your target page, and create some pages which link to your target page on your site, and gives some links to them.

H1, H2, H3 tags with the keyword.

1% keyword density.

Keyword in the title.

An image on the post with the tag title as the keyword.

A hyperlink linking to the individual post with the keyword.

Good grief... I hope you're not seriously asking if you should only build links back to the home page and ignore all your other pages?!

Maybe you should read some more about SEO and pay close attention to the affects of Panda 3.3 in particular; which had a marked effect of penalising sites with home-page heavy link profiles, as well as those without diverse anchors.

Link deep, and use a hugely diverse range of themed phrase-matched anchors.
