I have a quick question, is it safe to make multiple Wordpress
blogs on the same shared hosting? Like 5? I'm trying to make
a small network promoting my money site. :dunce:

Thanks a lot!

it is "safe"
however...
a network of 5 blogs on the same host will have limited benefit as backlinks to your main website.
Try a network of web 2.0 properties instead.

Sorry if I might sound like a complete SEO noob, but what's
an example of a web 2.0 property /facepalm :spank:

hehe I worried you might misunderstand me the moment I hit post.
What i meant with wordpress was the site not the software.
You can host a blog at wordpress.com. For example MojoSoDope.wordpress.com

There was a post a few days ago which had a big list of web2.0's you could look at.

Oh sweet thanks. So is it better to have this: example.wordpress.com than to have blahblah.example.com?

I think you misunderstood what web2.0's are.
These basically allow you to publish your own content. Like you wanted to do by setting up 5 blogs on 1 host.

Wordpress, blogger, blogspot, squidoo etc take away the need to host them yourself. Everything else stays the same.
So you would create a few of these web2.0's and put your articles on their linking to your site. You can than social bookmark those articles.

After that it really depends how far you want to go. You could try to rank these web2.0's or just leave them as is.

Thanks a lot man! So I got this down:

1. Set up 5 5 web 2.0's on wordpress.com
2. Post my articles (have link to money site?)
3. Social bookmark the web 2.0s?
4. Scrapebox?

Remember there's a difference between wordpress.com and wordpress.org

You install the download from wordpress.org onto your site, you make a free web2.0 at wordpress.com

From wordpress.org you get yourwordpressblog.com (this is money site or a blog that you will direct to your money site)

At wordpress.com you get yourwordpressblog.wordpress.com (this is web 2.0)

2.0 properties are (usually) free blogs you make on different platforms like Rext described and link them together and to the site where you make your money. Because they're on different platforms and sites, the linking will look a lot more natural than if you had 5 sites on one server linking between one another.

In regards to your original post, it's totally ok to have multiple sites on the same server, and you can even link one to the other...If they aren't discussing the same topic and if you aren't trying to make it seem as though they're separate entities. If you want your blogs to be in the same market and connect to each other, your best bet is to host on separate servers.

Edit: removed link...

1. Set up many more than 5 web 2.0 and set them up on different blog platforms.
2. Yes yes
3. Bookmark your articles
4. :)
