Okay, so I would like to know if this can be done as a membership site before I go further into it.

Can I create a movie site that has links from putlocker, videoweed, videolion, sockshare, etc. and make it a membership site for people to access those links?

I am assuming it can be done, so long that I have offshore hosting, hidden from search engines, protected from Whois, etc.

There are free sites out there that simply takes links in the same manner, so if they are free and have ads all around, why not? Why shouldn't I explain this to my users, and let them pay to access movies from these sites, such as putlocker, etc.

Prime example: Imoviesclub on Clickbank products....

Thoughts?

I think it could be done but theres already a free website that does that i cant post the link though:p

Well yes I know many free sites that do this. I have one as well, and it is getting pretty crazy, so I thought if I make it private and charge all my recurring visitors a few bucks per month, I can make way more than with what the ads offer.

I will try it soon, just wanted to know if there is a possible way to get caught and get in trouble... But I doubt it.

Thoughts?

Yes you can get in trouble, if you are helping people commit copyright infringement. You are also making money from said infringements and as a result you are a criminal enterprise. It means you are breaking even more laws. That's if you are in the USA of course. If you are foreign, then its a different story.

Also, yes the MPAA/RIAA does go after smaller operations. Sites get seized all the time by ICE. Even sites that are only hosting links get shut down as well.

So make sure you have all your domains hosted outside of the USA as well as offshore hosting. That's the easy part.

The real question is how are you going to keep the money, "clean." If you are using paypal then they can go through paypal to trace who you are just by following the money.

I'm sure a ton of people who have been to one of those sites have thought about the same thing you have, to clone it. Notice that all of them are in Europe? If you do infact find a hosting company that will allow this, then you're risking jail time like megaupload, that's why half of the sites you're trying to duplicate shut down on their own.

Im not going to use paypal. That's for sure. I have my information there. I was thinking maybe Plimus. Or a payment processor that is hosted outside of the USA. I have contacted a few and am waiting approval. Plus, none of these companies have on their terms the illegality of uplaoding movie links. As long as DMCA doesn't find my site and contact them to take my links down, then I am good to go. And DMCA won't find my site since I will be private (offshore hosting, not accessed from search engines)...

And you said sites that HOST links. I will not be hosting any links, but simply taking what is already out there. Those links are not copyrighted and can be shared from anyone in the WWW, so I cannot be held liable for any links I am linking to from my site.

What did you mean by having all my domains hosted outside of the US? How do you host a domain?

Thanks for discussion guys.

It means Buy hosting from a company which is not located in the US mainland.Be sure to buy your Domain too from a Offshore Domain Registrar

Buy from netherlands/Russia/Ukraine if u want hosting that even explicitly allow copyrighted content.

Ah okay got it. Can you recommend a place to find sites like these, or a few good companies off the top of your head?

And can I just transfer domains as well?

Thanks guys.

I'm pretty sure it's a lot more knowledge to be acquired and also a team involved if you want to make this run smooth and safe from a certain point of view. Actually nothing is safe, but you just have to avoid the simplest things that could get you in big trouble.

I don't trust anyone else but myself. But thanks for the advice. Yes of course, I am going to take every little precaution, and hopefully soon write my journey here and how I did it.

this would be a tough project i think and like it has been said...someone has already done this..

My advice, spend your valuable time elsewhere

Doesn't matter if it's technically legal, the US government certainly have a problem with people linking to copyrighted material. They tried to bring a person over from the UK for it. Although many sites do this. It would be helpful if you could find content you didn't upload personally, but that didn't help the UK guy and he didn't charge.

Use bittcoins or perfeft money. Anonymous payments, or y not incentive cpa offers?

Either host this on TOR with bitcoin or I would suggest not doing it at all. Are there not many other ways you could make money without risking your entire life for it?

This is a good idea for anonymity but if someone is savvy enough to know how to use TOR and bitcoins then they're going to be savvy enough to find those movie links on their own and won't need the subscription site.

Ah good point. Nvm on that idea then haha

Usually if you have to ask if it's legal, it probably isn't. The better question to ask is: "Do I care that this is illegal?" or "How do I do this and not get caught?".

Ooooor better yet: How can I do it making it the least legal way? Thats one big question bug rotten/corrupted companies ask and end up winning with a not so legit way. (COUGHmonsantoCOUGH)

Unless you're talking specifically about CyberBunker, you're going to get this kid in jail. Dutch policy is just as strict on copyright infringement as any other country. In fact, a little rat named Tim Kuik is one of the largest online copyright protetectors around, receiving millions of dollars each year from large Film and Music corporations. He is (sometimes indirectly) responsible for the biggest torrent takedowns the world has had. CyberBunker is indeed a place where they'll host copyrighted material, but there are serveral other bunkers, including one in the U.K.

@OP; If you were to upload these movies and whatnot yourself and keep the uploads clean from flagging, it could work I guess. I personally don't use these awful video sites and much rather download torrents. Guess people who don't know how torrents work use this?

No it's not legal lol that's why a lot if hosting companies won't let this type of thing on their servers.

I've done a lot of research on this, and it is 100% not legal. Also no one will pay, the whole reason people go online to watch is so they don't have to pay to see it, so very few people will take it up - a few ads doesn't bother people.

There is no way to even make this legal other than starting your own netflix type service or just linking through to netflix or the like.

It's not worth trying, even with offshore hosting - the fact that you have to ask if it's legal, implies you have no idea how to stay anonymous online.not even TOR will protect you, you have to have multiple layers or protection, you think all the hackers that have been caught recently didn't know how to use TOR? I promise you they had much more than TOR in place.
