Thanks for taking the time to read this and not making a brand new post to ask a question that has likely been answered a countless times already.

Hopefully this thread will reduce the number of duplicate topics made asking the same questions over and over again.

I obviously can't cover everything there is to know about BlackHat SEO, but this guide should give you a strong start to guide you in the right direction. You'll need to do your own research and spend some time experimenting to further enhance your knowledge of SEO.

Feel free to ask questions on this thread. A knowledgeable to BHW member will surely respond if I don't see it in time.

What is Black Hat SEO vs. White Hat SEO?

Both are valid methods of Search Engine Optimization to increase rankings on Search Engines such as Google, Yahoo, Bing, etc. Blackhat methods are not allowed by Google (not meaning illegal) and white hat methods are allowed by Google.​

Why are Backlinks important?

Backlinks are similar to votes to your website. Search engines such as Google see these "votes" (backlinks) and the keyword they're linked from when they crawl websites. The more quality backlinks you have from a specific keyword anchor, the more likely you'll rank higher for that keyword in the search engine.​

What is PR?

PR stands for page rank. It's Google's method of ranking a website from 1-10 (10 being the highest) based on it's authority and importance. A PR10 website, such as Google itself, will rank much higher and more easily for the keywords it targets.​

What is article spinning? Why is it used?

Spinning articles is taking a unique article and finding synonyms for most words in the article. Then, scrambling up the synonyms for each word to create, what looks like, another completely unique article. Search engines crave unique content, and black hat users feed them spun content to appear as new content.​

What is Sandboxing?

Google is on the look out for BlackHat users because it distorts their search results. They "sandbox" the sites they catch violating the Proper Google SEO terms. Sandboxed sites are removed from search engine listings. Blasting (spamming) backlinks can get your site sandboxed. Sandboxing may be temporary.​

Can I be #1 on Google for any keyword?

No. To be frank, don't think just because you now have black hat tools, you can out rank websites that have been around for ages and have quality white hat links pointing to them. Do research and find a reasonable keyword to target.​

What is a Google Panda?

Google Panda refers to updates that Google implements on its Search Engine Ranking algorithms. The "Panda Update" often updates to fight Blackhat techniques. Therefore, Panda Updates are detrimental to sites using Blackhat tools and methods.​

What is the importance of domain names?

Domain names, in the short run can give you a great jump start in ranking. EMD (exact match domains) such as my-exact-keyword-phrase.com will rank better than QQQrandomTTT.com because the site already contains the url in the domain name. In the long run, it's the SEO and Backlinks that matter.​

What are web 2.0 properties? What's their use?

Web 2.0 properties are large(high PR) websites that allow users to freely create articles and blogs under their domain. For example, myblog.wordpress.com. These web 2.0 sites contain numerous articles created by Black Hat users. These articles contain backlinks with targetted keyword anchors to the sites the black hat users are trying to rank for. Using web 2.0 sites is advantageous because blasting backlinks to individual articles (with the backlinks) will easily index and rank the website, creating PR juice(the flow of PR) to the backlinks. Additionally, this will prevent the money site (site being targetted) from being sandboxed or blacklisted.​

How does BlackHat SEO work as a whole process?
There are many guides out there with different methods of Black Hat SEO that may work for some, and not work for others. No method is perfect, but some are more successful.
Generally speaking, here is the overall process of BlackHat SEO, using the terms we reviewed above.

1. Find targetted keywords. - whitehat
2. Optimize On-Page SEO - whitehat
3. Mass-create web 2.0 articles by spinning - blackhat
4. Blast huge lists of urls with backlinks to money site - blackhat
5. Purchase extra links and services such as mass bookmarking to further increase rankings - Some are white hat, some are blackhat

Scrapebox ($97)- Extremely popular BlackHat tool that "scrapes"(search and gather) keywords and urls from google with certain parameters. It can even scrape proxies from web pages and proxy lists. Most Black Hat users scrape keywords related to their website and url parameters such as wordpress blogs, blogengine, etc. Scrapebox's scrape tool is virtually limitless in possible scrapable content. Scrapebox also has a second, more prominent feature. It is a powerful tool for mass posting comments on blogs. Blackhat users place their link in the comment and "blast"(mass spam) comments to countless blogs, in an attempt to create more backlinks.

xRumer ($590 +$10/mo) - One of the most powerful BlackHat tools for spamming forums. It can mass create profiles and even post on forums. xRumer is notorious for being expensive and difficult to learn without prior experience.

Cautions:

• Not all methods work. Do research!
• Money does not = good rankings. You need to rank intelligently, rather than simply purchasing mass backlinks.
• Do not go on a blast frenzy. Google is smart and has a better chance of sandboxing your website if you go overboard.
• Don't rely soley on BlackHat methods. White hat is still the core of good SEO. Finish your whitehat SEO (such as on page SEO), then move on to black hat methods.
• Rankings are not instant. SEO takes time, sometimes months to see results. Don't panic or rush the process.
