Hey fellows,

One client has a problem - He's getting hit from January by a big xRumer submission. There are a lot of profiles pointing to his ecommerce website.

Now 2 days ago, some keywords started to drop - It looks like a -50 penalty.

There were already a lot of pages hit by this, but you have to consider, that there are over 10.000 other page's still ranking as before.

So his site, evolved the last months to a big authority site. Yet, this happened.

My suggestion was, to filter the links pointing to the site. Like all incoming links to www.domain.de who has s.th. like "member.php?" in the URL.

Any other suggestions?

Hell, I would be extremely pissed if this happened to me, but other than letting Google know, I don't know what is the best course of action. I would try the following, but I'm just throwing something out there:

1) Try Google Support. Tell them you are being bombed, etc.
2) 301 redirect?
Has his main linkbuilding attempts been to the http://www.domain.com or just the http://domain.com? I'm hoping to the latter, and the spammer is hitting just the http://www.domain.com.
If that's the case you could easily 301 redirect the http://www.domain.com to the http://domain.com.

I know that people have POUNDED domains with these links and did a simple redirect and it did not affect them too bad.

3) Wait it out.
4) Get XRUMER and HAMMER THE FUCK outta his competitors.
5) Transfer site to a new domain & 301.

Best of luck mate.

Let us know what G tells you. This sucks for your client.

hi albaniax, have a look in the junior vip download section. i posted my plugin to filter links by redirecting them if a certain string is in the url.

I would not worry too much in less than a month your rankings should return unless I am missing something.

Unless I am missing something somebody is doing linkbuilding for your for free :) will strangthen your site in the long term :)

filter all the profile backlinks using hrefer footprints , pm if u need them

Is there any way to delete these backlinks and profiles if it happens to your site?

Any further updates on this? Was it resolved in any way? Did you turn the gun at the competition or contact big G?

I'd start building different types of links to counter the sudden surge of profile links. There's not much you can do about the quantity of profiles your client's been spammed with, but you can definitely try to dilute the effect with diversity. Best of luck, would love to hear how it all turns out! :)
