Just Host Refusing to change nameservers

Anyone have any advice about how i can get my Name Servers changed from Just Host to Host Winds.
My sites are now on Host Winds servers but Just Host who suspended my account for using too many recourses on their unlimited hosting account are refusing to change name servers for me.
My sites were taken down last Thursday and I can not get them back up until they do.
What can I do please?

Hum, it sucks a lot, but i believe your domain name is linked to your hosting contract. It might technically belong to them.

You may want to read the unreadable terms and conditions.

I'm pretty sure you will need JustHost to let you transfer it over, unless of course you know someone who can "hack the planet" and do it without them knowing. lol

It's not a wise choice to get domain from hosting providers, Even if it free. Don't repeat these mistakes ever again. Purchase domains from Domain registrats like Namecheap, name.com,godaddy and host it somewhere else.

Yup, if you got the domain as part of the hosting package, then you're pretty much fucked...

If you own your domains, transfer them to Namecheap, and get hosting from a different provider, such as Hostgator. If you don't own the domains, kill your account and start over with new domains.

No the Domain names are nothing to do with Just Host none of them were registered

If you have not purchased domains from Just host then just login to the control panel of the domain account and change the nameservers yourself. You don't need to contact just host for this.

But thats the point Just Host will not let me into the Control Panel, my account is suspended.
I would not have needed to ask if I could just waltz in and change them myself.
I might not be the sharpest tool in the box but I aint that thick LOL

You said that you did not register the domain with them, so why the hell would you need to do anything with their control panel???

The change would be with the domain registrar and would have nothing to do with just host.

go back to where you reg the domain and just transfer it... takes couple of minutes not too long

I was reading the thread and wondering why he wouldn't be able to change the nameservers unless it was a freehost that owned the domains.

But yea, as others said, if you are the owners of the domain, just login to godaddy, namecheap or wherever you registered your domains and change the name servers their.

Nice and sleazy... err... easy.

oh well if you had purchased your domains elsewhere ,dont you remember updating the dns to just host in your domain control panel.do it the same way to move to anew host

I have to go back nearly 10 years for one and 6 years for another.
I have 3 pointing to Host winds so far.
I think a few Tots will have to be consumed, unless of course I can check the Who is History.

Nigel, it shouldn't be a problem to find where your domains are registered. It's the place where you spend money to renew them.

Once you find out where you registered all of your domains, it might be a good idea to transfer them to just one registrar, to uncomplicate your life. Namecheap is about as good as any. Lots of folks like GoDaddy, but I've seen them do some unscrupulous things.

The idea that you should have only one registrar is not so bad, especially when you only have like 2 sites. The nameservers are changed in the registrar's CPanel not the hosting company's. Actually, the hosting company should have nothing to do with the CPanel from the registrar's, they shouldn't have the option of changing your DNS without your permission.
